I was going to post the link, but you beat me to it!
FWIW, here is a synopsis of the interview:
- Coach Croson was surprised Kayaa was named starter, but not surprised that Brad has done well since his arrival at Miami;
- BK is a good learner/listener; diligent in studying his craft;
- BK has played in a lot of high-pressure games (16 televised games); spotlight is not new, but obviously magnified now in college;
- He has great mechanics, and has worked hard to develop them (allows him to make throws almost effortlessly);
- Miami (especially Coach Coley and later Coach Carroll) pounced on him early in the recruiting process, which allowed them to build a good relationship before the west coast schools began showing him attention later in the process;
- BK had a lot of pressure late to stay out west, but the QB situation in Miami was appealing (thought to be able to study under a 5th year senior at the time);
- Year-round games/7-on-7 work helps California develop quality QBs;
- Coach Croson expects Kayaa to succeed because he can focus on the task at hand vs. worrying about the bigger picture (large crowds, season's success, etc.);
- Will go through growing pains in dealing with new defensive schemes, but he will find a way through those times.
