Should we beat UNC?

A default program (after the Davis scandal, the University openly decided not to have a competitive program), coming off a big win, but let's face it, they are NOT better than us, and we are at home.

Can we beat them?

This game will be in the fifties for both teams as long as Dorset doesn't drop Tds left and right but that was probably just cuz of the cold

So you're telling me a program with no coach, who we were better than for the last three years, has surpassed us in one year? Golden? What is the deal?
 
Yes. Yes we can beat them. We are a better team and will be at home which evidently does something for our team because I don't think Dorset drops all those balls if we were at home in front our usual 30k. People on this board are retarded, I might even stop lurking here cause it's becoming useless to read. When we win, were supermen. When we loose, we fire everybody second guess Golden, and say that our program will suck forever. Realize a win this Saturday just about locks the Coastal (VT has a loss and must play us, clemson and FSU). This, FSU and VT are our hardest ACC games left. We go 2-1 and the coastal is OURS. That's a big deal, very few people here seem to care about the fact that this **** poor, young as **** football team is a game away from pulling away in the coastal. This game is BIGGER then ND in the grand scheme of things. Once you start winning your conference, you can sell recruits on something besides the past.

If we make the ACCCG none of this will matter, not to me anyways.

Yeah the conference is a joke but its been a joke and we havent been able to do it.

We arent ready for the bright lights but **** at this point I will take a conference championship shot.

Getting to the ACCCG with this defense would be epic.

This. Wasn't there an understanding that this season we would struggle? I think winning the ACC coastal is a pleasant surprise. Beating notre dame would have just been gravy. Yesterday's game in the grand scheme of this season means nothing. The coastal is there for the taking, we win on Saturday at unc and I really like our chances at winning the coastal.

There was a poster (cant remember who) that said in our preseason predictions threads that he was going to enjoy the ride and expect:

1. really high highs

2. fantastically low lows

Now I remember quite a few people agreeing with him at the time (I was one). Pretty much dead nuts so far.
 
Next week is going to be huge. Looking at he bigger picture, weve lost 2 non conference games (both of which have been to top 10 teams on the road). That's it. We're 3-0 in the acc with a chance to go 4-0 this upcoming weekend. Let's take it one game at a time, let the kids mature and aim to win this **** conference. These kids will continue to fight. Will you continue to show your support?

Who's going to next weekends game?

UNC is going to be a tough game. We cannot let this be a shoot out. We are due to lose a shoot out. We need to posses the football and control the game. Their offense is good.
 
Depends. They are nothing special, but neither are we. They have an explosive offense, and not much of a defense against good teams. Should be another game like GT and NC State. They lost to Wake, who is bad, but beat up on VT (who looks pretty bad). They did give up a lot of points to VT, and VT has a horrible offense. Should be a fun game, and with a win we'd be in the driver's seat for the Coastal. It wouldn't be wrapped up because VT only has 1 ACC loss and if they beat us they'd be in the driver's seat, though they do play Clemson and FSU later on.
