I do find it funny that apparently the next Patrick Mahomes was given a 5th round Draft grade.

I'd be quietly annoyed if I was a contributing offensive player on this team hearing all the praise heading Ward's way - we're set up for the long run with the talent we've acquired under Cristobal.

yeah I dont get the doom and gloom for the future in December of the year before.

The loss sucked, we had it all in front of us and blew it. But Ill hold off on the world is ending until we are a 7 win team next year if that were to happen.

He's been sensational, and honestly should've been in the running last year for what he did with Tyler Van Dyke, Emory Williams, Don Chaney, a true freshman Mark Fletcher, absolutely ZERO at the TE position, etc and he still had an offense in the top 30 in yards per play and 38th in scoring.

I said it all year last year, this dude is better than Guidry. Of course I got laughed off the board, but it's true. He is an actual competent coordinator. He's not perfect, but few are. But the offense overperformed last year relative to the talent, and all he did this year was pilot the best offense in school history.

And for all those saying it's only because of Cam Ward, I'm not going to sit here and diminish Cam for who he is or what he's done, we should all be incredibly grateful that he decided to come here but I'll just say this......if it's all Cam Ward, why did Washington State have the 53rd ranked scoring offense in the country last year, and this year Miami is #1 by almost 3 whole points?
 
If Dawson does leave to be a head coach, I think we should go after Kevin John’s from Oklahoma, the former OC from Duke. He does so much more with less, beat Alabama at his first go as Co-OC at OU this year, and opens up a bit of a power spread. Would probably be able to bring in Jackson Arnold with him if Mateer does go to OU and pushes him out.
 
Congratulations to him. It's well deserved. I say this not liking a few tendencies he has in play calling. He has done a great job this season and should be in this. I think he should win it.

Unpopular opinion but he's a lot better than many will ever appreciate. There are no fanbases, college or pro, who like the OC, it's a thankless position, but not all of them would put up the #1 offense, "just cuz Cam!" Good luck. I hope he wins it.

He showed what his scheme can do when you have a real QB running it. Even if we dont have the #1 offense in the country every year..we should at very least have top 5 even with a QB not as good as Cam. (granted Dawson sticks around past this year)
 
Hopefully he wins it but personally I think his resume and perception of cam being the only reason his offense was elite will stop him from getting any headache coaching jobs this year
