not miami related but kind of interesting, i thought anyhow




First off I am not insinuating anything I write here is illegal. From the things posted here i don't think they are against the rules. But, I thought this information is something you guys can look at and understand maybe why this one slipped away.

Think back to last year and Leonard Williams. Williams absolutely committed to Muschamp and company during the weekend before signing day. The rumor the day before and during signing day was that a coach at Mainland HS was keeping Williams in a hotel room for those two days until he signed papers with USC. I have no way of really proving this, but this is what I heard and believe.

This I know to be a fact... Asst coach Keynodo Hudson, since Williams commitment, has been hired as a "GA" or Volunteer Coach" at USC. That is look-upable and I did so.

Again, I am not saying anything illegal was done here, just pointing out the uphill climb the staff faced with Williams that apparently has transferred over to Powell as well. I will be shocked if Powell signs anywhere else other than USC.

So just a coincidence that he and the kid end up at the same school? Who cares about the first part, pay attention to the part in bold

or are you incapable of thinking a little deeper? what about money off the books? and an opportunity to get your foot in the door at the college level (+ 7g's for doing it)

probably should hold off on the ****** comments.

You know how hard it is to get a GA job? Do you know what a GA job can do for your career if you are a nobody HS coach?

and I just remembered you guys are going after Q. Powell...so this could be something for you guys to watch moving forward.
 
Do I think that The Second Part Happens YES. The ****** Comment was Directed more twards the thought that a Coach had a Kid Locked in a Hotel Room untill he agreed to flip to USC to get the coach a GA spot on staff. Do Coaches push kids to some schools to curry themselves favor sure....Do they commit a Felony (false imprisonment) to do it no.That is Retarded.
 
Honestly, Who cares?? Kid picked a great school to play football at and by all accounts he seems to be developing fairly well. Situations like this WILL ALWAYS happen. It's human nature. Wether it's AAU basketball, travel baseball teams that feed to certain schools, 7 on 7 teams....... If someone sees they can financially and/or personally benefit in many circumstances they will capatilize. No one can stop it. End of story.

Exactly. Like some guy is going to be able to hold a 6 foot 5 almost 300 pound kid in a grown mans body against his will in some hotel room. :ohlord: you can't be serious.
 
lol at the absurdity of this rumor. Basically, the quote in the top post is saying the coach kidnapped a kid and held him hostage for two days. Yeah...

We have a school offering every recruit's best friend a scholarship, a mentor/coach/advisor in Miami pushing a stud toward Whisky/FSU and people adopting football players and you all crap all over this is as impossible - Why?

So a high school "coach" tells a prized recruit it is better to be put up in a hotel for a few days to avoid the craziness of recruiting and whatever other relatively easy to believe story he could have told him, and we think there is no way a player does it?

Today, in 2012, reading these boards daily -- we think this could not happen?
