I believe Al Golden is a smart man who is not divorced from reality.

And, I believe he does not share Coker's ineptitude or Shannon's insane stubbornness. He has proven he can out-recruit those 2 jokers.

However, at what point does he look in the mirror and accept the following:

1. We only beat 3 teams with a winning record; our signature win was Georgia Tech.

2. We play in the ****** Coastal Division of the ACC and we can't even win that.

3. We get out-schemed every game. Every meaningful win was dependent on creating turnovers and explosive plays by a superior athlete (Duke Johnson or Stacy Coley).

4. We lost to Duke.

5. Our defensive scheme is abysmal and until we become a solid defensive team, nothing good will happen.

At some point, he must realize changes are needed for success. I hope he has the courage to implement them.

Agreed this coaching staff was out coached, but we have a talent problem. This team has 7 - 8 win talent - NOT elite talent. So... its all about recruiting elite players and great role players and fill ins and... the D coach must go.

It's NOT just about talent. I was at that disaster last night. At least 10 times I turned to my dad and said "why do we have a DE split out covering a receiver?" We are not creative. We RARELY attack on defense (isn't it funny that the one time we were aggressive was the one big play we had on defense?), we are predictable on offense (the whole stadium knew Hus was getting the ball to the short side on that 4th down call) and our guys constantly look confused.

As with everything, the truth is in the middle. We need major talent upgrades, but we should have been 11-1 this season if our coaches hadn't been too stubborn about running out this shell of a system every week. If Golden isn't smart enough or humble enough to take a step back and recalibrate...then unfortunately it is time to go.

I like the guy. I hope he does great things. I think he will. BUT the reality is that we are a boring team and a mediocre one at that...something has to give. I'm sick of shelling out what is for me big bucks to fly across the country a couple times a season and purchase tickets to watch this stuff. I'm a Miami fan first, and an Al Golden fan way after that.
