Just to piggy back on that good man coverage thread

Wanted to point out I was impressed at how kacy Rodgers and highsmith played tonight... They've gotten a lot of **** on here and I was one too but those boys came out to play especially since bush didnt even get his cleats dirty

call me a debbie downer, but wtf are u guys talking about.
Rodgers comes running free from the blind side-does his job and we praise him like we are taking a kid to a candy store for good behavior. come
om man! Highsmith whiffs on multiple plays, assists in some gang tackles and we are saying his turning the corner! hes a Sr for crying out loud. and lastly, Jenkins gets beat deep - FAU Wr drops it and we are saying good recovery! come on man!
we need Bush back plain and simple. Where was Jamal carter? Was he not mentally ready to make a mistake ? im worried as **** with our safeties depth - plain and simple.
Trust me , as much as i want to seat here and say what a great job our safeties did, i will be lying to myself!
On a positive note, our CB's played a lot more aggressive!

Yup, you're a debbie downer. No one is saying Kacy Rodgers and AJ are the next Ed Reed and Sean Taylor, they are saying they looked improved and that they may not deserve all the hate anymore. Kacy didn't have just the two safety blitzes, he was also in on pass breakups and tackles. I saw it with my own eyes in person. Jamal Carter came out on Kickoff returns in the 2nd half and then got some burn at safety.

We all agree it will be nice to have Bush back.
 
He is not a Debbie Downer. He's right. While KC played much better than he showed last year, Highsmith took terrible angles time after time. He whiffed on a few tackles as well. The CBs on the other hand were very good.

I'm sure Kacy and Highsmith are great kids but on the field they ******* scare me. I would hope they've gotten better, it's the least we could expect at this point. ****, it feels like they've been here ******* forever, more so Highsmith that at one point was playing QB here. These 2 guys wouldn't start on any of top 25 teams in the nation, why the **** should they start here? Move Gunter to the back with Jenkins, Bush and Carter, bring in Artie to play now at CB. Granted I know it's the first game but best players need to play! We can't finish the season with the way our secondary is structured.

I have said it over and over again Rodgers will be a great back up this season and play a lot better than he did last season. Again he will not be a All American but he will make plays and provide solid depth this season. Once Bush is 100% the depth at safety will be very solid.
 
Rodgers did look better IMO. Yeah he whiffed a sack, but I'm talking about the whole game. I agree to not get too psyched about his untouched Sack on the blitz but at least he was violent enough to jar the ball loose.

That said, we need Bush back and we Need Jenkins to wake up out there. Those are our 2 best talents, we need them playing.
