I know this doesn't have much to do with whats going on now but a pretty interesting read on how the SEC has capped the amount of recruits each of their teams may be able to bring in during a given recruiting period basically killing what Saban has been doing at Alabama for the past couple of years. This could be huge for Miami if they are able to begin competing nationally agains which I have no doubt they will be able to do. Alabama commitment Justin Taylor became the first case study in the SEC's new oversigning rule.
Alabama has 27 commitments for its 2012 class, and Alabama coach Nick Saban has told Taylor there will not be a scholarship available for him 2012. Saban promised Taylor a scholarship for 2013.
Will Taylor attend Alabama or sign elsewhere in 2012?
"I'm still getting my head together," Taylor told Sports Illustrated earlier this month

The thing is, Bama would have still cut him if their was no oversigning limit for the SEC.

doesnt do anything to kill what saban does....he can still sign the 25 every year and cut down the 5-10 he is over

the issue was never the 25...it is the 85

take this year...even with the known attrition..bama number should be around 15-17...i believe they are 26 or 27 with a couple more possible on nsd...so they count back a few to last year to get under the sec limit..but they still have to cut roughly 10 kids to get under 85

so we will see some more transfers and medical hardships...or possibly flat out non renewala
