"Steelers GM Kevin Colbert said ILB Sean Spence (knee) had "one great day of practice" toward the end of last season, which gives the team hope he may play again.

Spence shredded his knee nearly as bad as humanly possible in the 2012 preseason, tearing his ACL and LCL, dislocating his kneecap and damaging the peroneal nerve in his leg. He practiced for three weeks at the end of this past season while on PUP but was eventually sent to I.R. The Steelers expect him to participate this spring and summer. Spence's career is still in serious doubt." Feb 12 - 2:14 PM

most guys prob would have packed it in (and rightfully so) after that injury. Spence has heart for days.

Will always root for Spence. Best cane of the now decade long ****** era. He's timeless, would have fit in on any canes squad.

Bring that dude in as a coach here. Kid was everything anyone ever could have asked him to be for the canes during our dark ages. Who knows where we would've been without him

My favorite Cane during the RS era. Hate the Steelers but hope he comes back & gets to ball out again.

Spence was the perfect player and to me showed what was wrong and might still be wrong at THE U. Staff never did anything to make him better. He came in a player and any improvement came from inside. I actually thought staff made him worse. Back in the day, he would have ended up 1st round pick and an all time great like Jessie or Darin(okay he might not have been as fast as them). My prayers for his recovery.

Smartest most instinctual LB I can remember playing here. Spence was always in the right place.

Nerve damage is most often the kiss of death, but I think he'll beat it.

I trained a running back in Canada that had the same injury including the nerve damage. His foot was almost dangling and he couldn't lift it. The comeback was 2 years, but he's been in the CFL for years now and has had a great career. I pray the same for Sean Spence.

Be praying for his recovery. Would be a tragedy if this guy doesn't get his shot in the league. He's one of the most deserving of it that I can think of.
