Is he still with the team? Is he ever expected to play again?
That’s a great question. At this stage I would just assume we will never seen him on the field in a Miami uniform again. I heard rumblings that he might medically retire but I don’t have the sauces to back that up.Is he still with the team? Is he ever expected to play again?
He will be one of those great what if questions years down the road.
What would he have become had he not torn up his knee in HS? He has never been the same since.
or what if he didnt sign with a coach who wanted to change all undersized des into lbsHe will be one of those great what if questions years down the road.

Yeah at Miami turf toe or some toe injury has been a problem for him, but as a Jr in HS Sam was electric and explosive. He was never the same after. The toe thing has screwed up his Miami time but he is a different dude after the injury.I thought it was the lingering turf toe injury that's been holding him back more than the knee.
Proof that despite all the advances in the way torn knee ligaments are handled and the decreased recovery time that not everybody is going to be the same player they were before the injury. Some come back in 9 months better than ever while others may take a bit longer. There are some who take up to 2 years to get back their speed and explosiveness(Waynmon Steed) and sadly there are many others who never fully recover and are never the same again. Hopefully Sam Brooks isn't in that last category and he is able to get back on the field because before his knee injury, he was a special athlete. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.Yeah at Miami turf toe or some toe injury has been a problem for him, but as a Jr in HS Sam was electric and explosive. He was never the same after. To be Honest...you never come back better than ever from an ACL.....and alot of times it's a mental issue....you naturally become hesitant to make the same cuts, and plants.Proof that despite all the advances in the way torn knee ligaments are handled and the decreased recovery time that not everybody is going to be the same player they were before the injury. True but I didn't mean it literally. All the same I should have been clearer with my post. I agree about the mental nature of the recovery process and that is another thing that I neglected to mention. To be Honest...you never come back better than ever from an ACL.....and alot of times it's a mental issue....you naturally become hesitant to make the same cuts, and plants.

Thats not true in my case. The summer of my freshman year at Auburn I tore my ACL & MCL. I came back stronger than I was before because of the work I put in and the commitment because I didn’t want to lose my scholarship back in those days. My lateral movement was better and I gained 2” on my vertical. I have a pic of me dunking on Will Perdue after my surgery. I don’t think I’m the only athlete that can tell that story. I went on to play 5 years for Real Madrid before going to the Marines. To be Honest...you never come back better than ever from an ACL.....and alot of times it's a mental issue....you naturally become hesitant to make the same cuts, and plants.
