this. That recruiting pitch has been used for winning programs for decades. I’m sure Miami, FSU, etc all used that recruiting pitch back in the day. Nothing new here, folks.

Exactly. The point about competition makes you better is spot on and what this program used to be about.

Now there’s a downside to this pitch too - Coker used a version of it - Coker used to say ‘there’s three things - graduate, won titles, get to nfl. if you can find a school that does those things better than Miami, you should go there....’. Sounded good but he’s lose kids to places that did a better job of making them feel wanted or needed, and he focused on the wrong kids anyhow because he recruited off lists.

Dabo will pitch family, culture ... emotional points not just a logic sale.

I think you need to do both, and it’s doable.

Exactly, he sells a decade of success now which is as easy a pitch as it gets. Everything he's saying speaks for itself

But you're spot on it that they way it got started wasn't because Saban is a smooth guy, he's not. They paid for talent and made the most of it, that's the Saban blueprint
