S Hylton “Drake” Stubbs commits to Miami

You don't look over your contractor's shoulder while he's working at your crib, or ask your lawyer or FA questions?

Getting paid doesn't mean you are worth what you are paid, or that even if you are you aren't wrong this one time.

I like Stubbs a lot though. Top 4 recruit in our class, whatever that is worth.
But if you're gonna question your contractor shouldn't you have some clue about why you're questioning him?

Sure, but it's not that complicated. And either way I'm not blindly trusting anyone because they are paid well.

And if that well-paid contractor paid his previous project manager big money to **** up his last project, that might be cause not take a blind faith approach.

That's not what I mean though. Just simply if you don't know anything about what makes a kid stand out or not, than just stay out of that and see how it plays out. Don't be Tom, **** and Harry and tell Bear Bryant about football.

Agree that having an uninformed opinion adds no value. I think most of us who track recruits at least watch HUDL if we're not able to go to games (that's me). But there are definitely those guys that just look at the composite rankings and rant on the fact we're not Top 5 or Top 10 without having clue about the quality of the recruits.

For Subbs in specific, I think his tape is elite. He's one of my favorite commits. Looks like a true safety to me, too. I know nothing about his alleged uninspired performance in one game. On a related note, last season they were showing Chaminade play on national TV and Jeremiah Smith took several plays off when he wasn't being targeted. Is there anyone who doesn't believe he's the biggest fish that got away of the class at this point? We need to remember these are kids. And what I do know is that Stubbs' highlights are impressive. Take all day every day.

Ultimately his path I can see similar to Zaquan where he might not play first half of season but 2nd half of year he starts to make more impact, escalating weekly. He's not a perfect, generational level prospect but no doubt a very good one who will get on the field here.

Come on man. This is a fan board. lol. You know better.

Also, how many times have you heard that yourself and known it wasn’t true. Even the absolute best talent evaluator in college football is 50/50. And we’ve had 20 years of mistakes including many from Mario’s first couple classes. And I’m a self-declared Mario homer when it comes to his recruiting.
After dealing with Manny "Deer-In-Headlights" Diaz as HC, I have a lot of patience for Mario. I mean, the results also help lol.
