S Hylton “Drake” Stubbs commits to Miami... flips to UiF 12/2

Y’all said the same thing about Zaquan.

Freshman safeties rarely play P4 football unless they’re premier. I’d put him just below that category in the same bucket as Patterson.

I’ll gladly eat crow. Big miss and not denying it. Still not as big of a deal if that $ is going towards someone like the Purdue safety. Pull that off and it’s all forgiven. Whiff in the portal and I’ll come back and burn it down with y’all on missing Stubbs.
100% correct. Knowing what we know about our 2025 schedule, I would rather put funds towards more proven portal players, and some with multiple years of eligibility.

Contrary to the all the negative vibes around here, Miami has some really good pieces to set the foundation for next season, but we need a QB, proven WR, few DL, and some DB's to really navigate that schedule.

I feel good about what we have at RB, TE, OL, DL starting group, LB, and I do feel good about our 2 starting CB's in Frederique and Brown.

they flipped kids from Tennessee and Texas but only Mario can't recruit. that's how this work?
they are throwing winning lottery tickets at kids and most of them won't finish their careers at UF.
1+1 doesn't equal 2 to most people here.

I've literally been saying for weeks Instead of paying the coaches buyout you keep him and just ADD all that buyout money towards what you already spend in NIL split over 2 seasons, and flipping guys should be no surprise. $ is the most significant correlation/causation towards recruiting and especially portal results. And talent is the most significant driver of W/L. However on field results trail HS Recruiting results by 2-3 years usually (when those recruits are juniors).

So NOW people are saying where we stack up in terms of actual NIL dollars has dropped relative to others...Yet everyone thinks the results should... keep pace/improve?
- Oh but we invest so much in Mario! lol, He's the 15th highest paid coach in the country. And just delivered us a team that is almost certainly finishing the regular season ranked top 15, potentially 11th and making the CFP. Okay these people don't have any argument for that....
- But We have invested a lot more in this program than we have in the past! True, it's all relative though, and that investment as a whole still wasn't touching top 5 investments in the country status, and now everyone is acting like we're going to be lucky to be a top 15 NIL player... So what should the expectations be?

This loss IF IT EVEN HAPPENS effects us in 2 years, not next year.

yes hes saying were looking at the 15-20 range maybe 11-20 but taking Stubbs and nix out should probably drop us a few spots
Stubbs and Nix out is like 15th. Right above Ole Miss.

I figured we’d flip Alford, but maybe we lose another guy or two if that estimate is accurate.

Money talks. Sounds like the pocket book wasn't prepared for a late season **** the bed scenario.

would be like 256 should we just lose those 2 and not add anyone else. I wont see a flip till I see a flip for Alford

Mario, call me and @Memnon

You ain’t got the defensive staff to trust that they’ll hit in the portal.
