There are very few Manny Diaz recruits left on Greentree. One of those is C Ryan Rodriguez. The fourth-year sophomore is emerging after a breakout spring and has received first-team snaps at center and guard. Rodriguez spoke to reporters about his progress:

On his improvement: The biggest thing has just been listening to Coach [Mirabal] and those meetings that we have every day. Instead of just sitting there and watching the clock pass, you’ve got to lock in and write notes. You [have to]...

The biggest thing has just been listening to Coach [Mirabal] and those meetings that we have every day. Instead of just sitting there and watching the clock pass, you’ve got to lock in and write notes. You [have to] actually listen to what he's saying because not one second goes by where he's saying nothing. You just sit there and process that information and actually understand what he's trying to get to. And the whole concept of everything, everything starts clicking a little easier and then you can start playing freer.

Was not expecting to hear anything on Nino. I wonder if he is really stepping up and developing above the other young guys.

Anyone know anything?

Good read and it's great to learn that RR is officially all in on the grind... Love his description of Cam off camera and how Cam is with the entire OL... IMO that's HUGE for the O and team chemistry. RR's descriptions of Lee and Carpenter and the impact they had on his personal development imo confirm Mario and staff have made some **** good TP decisions... GO CANES...

If he has to play and start we're going to be fine at C or LG against most teams. Good player that will play his best football this year and next.

Cool to see him finally take his strength in the classroom and apply it to football and see results.

Would love to see him get good reps this year, get that play strength up and hey...maybe starting C in 25. Would be cool.

depth piece thats hopefully developing and continues to add good weight that allows us to not have to portal for a center next year and use that spot on other positions.

He was kind of narrow when i saw him and clunky abit but he didnt look all bad i seen him get good reps at Temple.
If he is Gaynor level im fine with that as a bridge to our next starting centers like Nico etc.

Think he is to the level now of playing aggainst conference level opponents with out a whole lotta fear. now keep adding to that Ryan

Was super high on this kid coming out of HS. Believe we beat out LSU for him so he was a legit baller at Columbus. Great to see him putting it all together and looking to be one of our top 8-9 and taking over C next year

i am skeptical. i haven't seen him in a while, but he was always undersized and it seemed he lack both lower body and upper body strength. let's see

Very happy that he's putting it together.

But I hate hearing that "if you listen to the coach and take notes, you learn things and get better" and "Matt Lee helped me get right mentally and physically".

It makes it sound like there's zero accountability and everything is optional. Dudes in year 4 and finally is paying attention in meetings? I wouldn't have published that.

Apparently he is over 310, so, I guess these concerns don't exist anymore.

LSU never gave him the green light.

Agreed... It's sounds crazy however, some just aren't students of the game when they get here and when there aren't upperclassmen setting the example it can take much longer if it ever does as we all know to well around these parts. Every offseason, we seem to get one or two guys who suddenly started watching film or learned that diet is an important part of the game etc. Doubt these type of quotes are being made, much less printed in Georgia, Alabama, Michigan etc...
