How about marrying the run with the pass. This offense should be unstoppable when the run game is working. Get 7 instead of 3. Controlling the clock you better come away with TD's if you are going to limit possessions. On defense get pressure on McCord.

Yeah limiting possessions is not how you win games. Getting stops on defense is. If there’s a shootout you keep scoring and trying to get stops. Whoever gets more stops wins the game. If you have a long drive and you don’t score, it’s very deflating. And if they come out and score their next drive quickly and you can’t fire back then you have problems. The longer your drives, the more time they get to orchestrate their drives and increase the likelihood that they will outscheme you and score quickly.

I don’t get how people don’t get this.

Playing cloud of dust and ball control is what Big 10 schools do and why most their games end up 20-17 type games where all it takes is one explosive play (which our defense does religiously) and a field goal for your team to lose.

Playing that brand of football only makes sense if you don’t have a QB (see GT, us last year vs Clemson and FSU, etc) or if your defense is the 85 bears.
 
I know I'm crazy, so hear me out here, but I'd like to see the #1 offense in the country continue to do what it's done to be the #1 offense in the country, and then play somewhat competent defense and special teams. I know, this is off the wall type ****. I know the smart thing is to take the literal best offense in the country and completely revamp the way we do things so we can beat ******* Syracuse, but I'm a rebel and sometimes I come up with really kooky stuff.
