I saw that Golden gave an update on Malcolm Lewis saying that he is coming along quicker than expected, running routes and he is back at full speed. However I didn't see any news this spring on the progress of Lockhart. Anybody heard anything?

Lockhart was near the end of the season and was a knee. Timeline on that is usually 10-12 months before they're back at it. Lewis was early in the season and an ankle, which apparently had less damage then originally thought. With Lockhart, at this point, the less we hear the better.

I hope Lockhart doesn't rush back. I love his ability and don't want him to have a half-*** wasted year and then all of the sudden be a junior with minimal to show so far. I think he is too good for that. I'm cool with him RSing this season, hitting the playbook, rehabbing, and coming back a RS So ready to eat!

After I saw his recruiting video I anticipated big things for him. Kid had all the goods. His injury was really unfortunate and I wish him a full recovery and hope to see him on the field soon.

This is the right thing to do. We should have enough depth where he doesn't need to rush back.

True gcane44, but times are changing at CG. The level of competition is only getting better. If the kids come next year that we anticipate (e.g., Lane) and if Coley is as good as we hope, Robert might feel pressure to try to get back ASAP. Your point is well taken though. He definitely looks like a play maker.

Barring setbacks, I think Lockhart will play this year. It's already over 5 months since he got hurt, and it'll be over 10 months when the season starts. 9 - 10 months is about the right amount of time to return from an ACL.

I'm guessing he's going to push to play instead of RS. He did a year of prep school, and barely played last year. Redshirting this year will put him 3 years removed from HS with no real college game experience. That might actually hinder his development more than if he plays but isn't 100% until mid season.

I liked Lockhart the best of the WR's in last years class, so I'm rooting for him and hope he plays this year.

Was expecting more from him, even as a freshmens, and def see him working to be a Reggie Wayne/Wesley Carrol type receiver. Hope he comes back this season and takes opportunity with the fast paced O we should have this year.

I say if he doesnt make the 5-6 deep WR roster then RS him. Esp if it is because of injury. And at this point that could be very possible. (Dorsett, Hurns, Lewis, Scott, Coley, Waters)

As far as an injury is concerned, I saw him at the wellness center playing basketball and he seemed fine. This was about maybe two months back. Unless he suffered another injury during that time then I don't have any worries for him.

Apparently he's filthy during practices. (Although he mostly good against redshirted freshmen corners like hope and Nate.

Is he practicing this spring?

WildcatDefense saw him tying his shoes in the corner of one of the last Chip Briere highlight video and has determined that he should be cut from the team.

In all seriousness, Lockhart is a big-time player. I wouldn't rush him back and waste another year. I hope they were able to finagle the rules and get him a RS last year even though he played in the 2nd half of the season. When you read the RS rule literally, you can't get a RS if you play a snap in the 2nd half of the season. Unfortunately, Lockhart only played about 10 plays all year, but they were in the 2nd half of the season. Hopefully, UM convinced the ncaa that the spirit of the RS rule should have allowed him to get a RS last year.

This dude's got too much skill to have him wind up a junior next year with 2 wasted years behind him.

I totally forgot he was on the roster! I honestly thought that herb and Lockhart should of redshirted. AG and Co made a base decision to play him for all of 10 plays..
