Replacement qb for mjj

If true that Johnson Jr isn't coming this kid lance legendre would be an amazing replacement no offer from Miami. Committed to Kansas easy(could be easy flip). Has really good touch.

I think we will get a better QB than MJJ. Dude just isn't a passer. We need a guy who can make quick reads, be accurate with the football, and be a good enough athlete to be dangerous. We don't need an all-world speed guy that is inaccurate and doesn't make good reads. I would like to have MJJ as an ATH but not as a QB.

We should try to flip Tai first. If not Tai then get a QB who has a big senior season

I agree with the idea that MJJ is a run first guy at this point, but I don't see statistical evidence that he's particularly inaccurate or makes bad decisions. According to his maxpreps page he complete 62% of his passes last year with a 4/1 td/int ratio. I'm not calling him the second coming of Drew Brees, but he's not just a pair of legs.

I'm still convinced that he signs here. I think this last week of "concerning rumors" is recruiting nonsense developed by tea leaf readers and insiders fishing for clicks.

Did I miss something? I hope we can still land Johnson Jr. I think he is the perfect QB for this class. He's the exact type of super high ceiling player to sandwich between 2 low risk for bust QB's Jarren Williams and Max Johnson. If he can't learn his reads and to be accurate we lose nothing. If he can we have a "5 tool" player at the QB position.

It's irresponsible of them to have no plan if MJJ doesn't commit, but thankfully you've thought of it and done the legwork so Richt can just come to you when his MJJ dreams crumble to dust. Your name may not appear on the roster or list of coaches or among the staff, but you're the true hero of this team. We are blessed to have you.

I don't agree with everything you said but it's true that he's not an ideal fit for Richt's offense. Richt runs a structured timing/rhythm based passing game and scrambler/"thrower" types like Perry and MJJ have to adjust their game to work within that structure. Williams is very athletic but he's also precise and accurate with his reads, throws and footwork.

It's important to remember that Richt doesn't need a QB with elite traits to win big. He set records with this guy - David Greene (American football) - Wikipedia - at UGA much like how Dorsey was so successful at Miami.
I want MJJ in this class because he's talented but it wouldn't be a travesty if he went elsewhere. And the meltdown threads would be epic.. :dr-evil:

He would like to post more but just doesn’t have much confidence in his own ability to spell.

I've noticed all kinds of spelling police the last 3 or 4 weeks @reg. Everyone of them have had an "account" for several years and hardly any posts. WTF?!
