Remember Jason's Whitlock's comments about how he 'knew the MAC' and Golden was going to flop like Turner Gill at a major program? All the nonsense about Temple's 'built in advantages' that Golden was benefiting from? People who wanted to question the hire were eating that stuff up.


At least he had the decency to back UM in the face of the NCAA nonsense
 
temple is in the ghetto. its not even like a campus. he turned a basketball player into a productive nfl 1st round pick and jaquan jarrett who no one knew into a 4 year starter and 2nd round pick.

I actually like Whitlock, but did he actually say that somehow Temple had any advantages? That's laughable...

I didn't take him seriously when he said it. He's a Ball St. alum, so maybe there was some heat involved with them both being MAC schools. Golden was asked about it by Lebatard and Al laughed it off. His response was basically, "Um....I was at Temple".
 
We're getting ahead of ourselves. Awesome to be excited about the season and the overall direction, though.

Anyone else hope Golden doesn't win? Stop with the Just Win! We all (except the shanhoe's) want him to just win. Same people saying turn right around and quote him with "Brick by Brick" clearly these are those bricks the wins are the next one. He didn't come here to be average.
 
I also remember when Jimmy Johnson was some bumpkin from Oaklahoma and Dennis Erickson was some apple picker from the northwest.

Not sure how anything in this thread involved people getting ahead of themselves. At the OP pointed out, we had tons of whiners and know-it-alls saying how Golden recruits like he's at Temple when he was recruiting with his hands tied behind his back. There is no denying that those doubters were 100% wrong about Golden's recruiting ability.

Where did this thread come from?

Did we not give up 583 yards against Duke the last time we took the field? Did we not lose to 4-8 UVA two weeks prior?
 
Rok still looking in the rear view mirror while trying to move forward. Problem is he can't see that he's on a collision course with a mack truck carrying the inevitable truth of what is this programs resurgence to it's rightful place at the top of the college football world.

Yeah, the season still hasn't started, but can someone tell me that they aren't excited by the(possible) additions to the roster since Feb 7th?

I have a strong feeling this isn't Kyle Morgan/Jean Leon-part II
