-There have been rumblings lately of 2014 RB Sony Michel's interest in Georgia. I can confirm that this interest is very legitimate and a source close to Michel told me that if signing day were today, he would be a Bulldog. This same source told me that he ultimately expects Sony to wind up a Cane because of the relationships he has developed over the last few years with the staff. There have been rumors throughout the process that Michel "loves" FSU RB Coach Eddie Gran, but apparently that has been overblown. Sony does not believe everything Gran is telling him, as some have suspected. That is big for Miami's chances.
-Another 2014 American Heritage player to keep an eye on is ATH Isaiah McKenzie. Tito posted about him yesterday here, but I've heard that McKenzie is absolutely blowing up this year. Word is that Jimbo wants him badly and Greg Reid referred to him as his "replacement" because he thought McKenzie's style was very similar to his own.
-2014 DL Anthony Moten from St. Thomas Aquinas told me today that he is aiming for a Spring commitment. South Carolina has recently come into the picture, but the Canes are in great position to land him. I really like what I've seen from him and is nowhere near as big as he will be. He told me a few months back that he actually wanted to commit to Miami back in the summer, but his parents wanted him to hold off. Keep an eye on him in the coming months.
-2013 DL commit Keith Bryant was in Columbia this weekend to see the Gamecocks play Georgia. He told me the visit was "dope", but I wouldn't put too much into it because Keith his likes to enjoy his visits. He is planning to be at Miami-FSU in 2 weeks as well and is pumped up about it. On another note, I've seen some people questioning whether or not he will qualify. I was told that Bryant struggled in the classroom early in high school, but has really been working hard over the last two years and has cleared up any of those concerns. You never know with the NCAA nowadays, but I'm not worried about any problems popping up with him.
-2014 commit Travis Rudolph broke his middle finger in his game this weekend. With a game coming up on October 19th against American Heritage, Rudolph told me "One finger won't stop me from playing". He will be going to the doctor tomorrow to see how severe the injury is.
-Alex Collins visited Wisconsin this past weekend to see the Badgers beat Illinois 31-14. I haven't talked to anybody close to him to see how the visit went, but keep in mind it was in the 30s, so it will be interesting to hear what Collins thought about the weather.
