Recruiting Grievances Thread

I want MOAR OL/DL but I know when I saw that pic of Searls with our 3 OL signees, I was sure we had some on the way. Those are 3 monsters

Smh, only Miami fans can find a way to complain about anything on the dline when we have the best assistant coach in football coaching it... relax there is a whole other signing day....

Hey has anyone watched Kool's interview on Rivals about recruiting? I don't have an account, I'm curious as to what he said.

Based on the temperature of the forum the last few days, I thought it would be healthy (and in the spirit of Festivus) to consolidate the gripes on one thread. Obviously the staff has been kicking *** on the trail this year, but no staff is prefect, and there have been some misses. No judgment, just some catharsis.

I'll start. First, I think Ford is a stud and we could have found a role for him on our offense and special teams... wish we'd made an effort there. Second, we should have been on Samuel earlier... yeah, he's smallish, but he's a savage.

Have at it.

Idk what you are talking about but he’s landed some talented guys since he’s been here and will continue to do it this class

I think the standard right now is Clemson's front 4. Frustration for us not being there yet and not having anyone set in stone on our radar that we (at least I) know of. But I'm sure the staff knows this.

Yeah they know they are ranked #1 in sacks and #2 in tfls in the country even with a disadvantage in recruiting rankings. Regardless they out performed schools who had higher rankings. You get a competent qb in there even just a normal power 5 starter who can hit targets **** even a group of 5 qb who can hit targets we defintiely wouldn’t have lossed to pitt..... that throw to Jeff Thomas against clemson they defintiely would have hit that and that changes the complete outcome of the game period

Wat a catharsis is? Is dat da tube they stick in yo wheezer when you laying in a hospital bed? If dat wat dat is, thank you but I'll pass on da catharsis.

I put this largely on Jobe, but I would’ve loved to have 1-2 of CB/S Keidron Smith, CB Divaad Wilson and CB Nadab Joseph. Smith was a lock if we offered, Joseph clearly was wide open since he flipped to UGA shortly after committing to Bama. Who cares if our commits don’t like Wilson, sort that out on Greentree, sometimes players can have an even stronger bond after having it out on the field.

I actually like Dennis Briggs better at OT than DT. His limited film there was excellent and Andrew Ivins reported that one SEC assistant felt he was a future NFL player at OL. That would solve our issue of finding a 4th OL as well. I also thought Cleveland Reed looked great at DT in his film too. Almost identical prospect to Kendrick Norton imo and have the same build. Then we could’ve stayed on OG Ed Montilus, who several have said has looked better than OT William Barnes who may be an OG in college anyway imo. Of course it’s all a moot point if those guys have no interest in playing other positions but it would’ve helped this class greatly on both sides of the trenches.

I would’ve liked us to really put a full-court press on Kevin Austin and Tyquan Thornton.

Rosendo Louis is a miss but he screwed himself. Monster Mike LB imo. I liked James Miller as well and I think we should take 2 LBs as I’m still not impressed with our depth there at all. Owens may grad transfer, Mike Smith is avg, Gordinier and Perry coming off major injuries, Wilder needs size badly, McCray is a scrub and Steed we haven’t seen yet.

Give me a new punter NOW...

And I agree that Johnny Ford should’ve been a take similar to Isaiah McKenzie for Richt at UGA

People whine about who we don’t get, let’s celebrate the guys who have chosen to wear the orange and green already while waiting for the other part of the class to sign in February

This class is loaded with a few elite national kids and a bunch of the best recruits in Florida and we will be adding even more come signing day

Seemed to me that we signed huge chock of SoFl studs this year, unlike the last 15 years. I was happy until I started reading the board. Seems like missed about 30 1st round picks and are back to golden days.
