Recruiting Grievances Thread

enough of the we have "x" amount of guys at "x" position already. alabama has like 4 5 star WRs on their roster and only one gets a lot of usage. they have big time recruits sitting behind other big time recruits. no projects. miami needs to start being ******* greedy

Some scattered thoughts. A lot of people on this board might consider this pessimistic but here’s my POV

Positives:

Our offensive staff can recruit at an elite or near elite level (except for OT)

We stacked our wr, te, interior offensive line, rb, and qb positions instead of resting on our laurels and following up a good class with a bad one

Our 4 signed dbs are talented

Brevin, lingard, & pope are all top 3 players for their position

Nesta

Negatives:

Our offense play calling is bad and Richt is too stubborn to relqunish his duties anytime soon. This will hinder our positives in offensive recruiting

Every qb looks like dan Marino against us

Diaz is a question mark when it comes to recruiting (snagged most of his targets the last 2 years except Cowan and Louis but tbd how well he evaluated.) I know South Florida has good lbs, but would’ve liked to see us press some other kids in the state or OOS. Don’t look now but Lb depth is almost as shaky as the dline. Let’s see how wilder and steed develop.

Can’t recruit elite OTs

We still slowplay local guys like chatfield, Harley, and samuel for no reason

Besides Hall, none of our db commits are elite athletes. They’re all good, but we still need elite athletes. For example, I’m sure everyone on this board would rather have Campbell rather than Blades lined up against Justin Shorter if we ever meet Penn State in the playoffs. Losing out on athletes like samuel, surtain, most likely Campbell and Jobe hurt us in taking the next step

Our two db coaches have missed out on a plethora of elite dbs/our top targets (Henderson, Wilson, surtain, Jobe, most likely Campbell, surtain, ***an, Davis & Wright ). There’s justifications for each of these kids and I don’t care to hear them

We recruit better than before but still not at the level of these 4 (OSU, Bama, Clemson, and UGA), which we will need to do in order to beat them

Our roster management

Kool is either too lazy or not good enough to pull in the #’s we need on the dline. How is it possible that we’ve heard smoke about Mcintosh, Willis (before he got ruled ineligible), & Norton all leaving after the 2017 season but Jon Ford was our only defensive tackle recruit in 2017? How is Nesta our only DT commit in 2018? How are all the top JUCO DTs already signed to other schools but none gave Miami the time of day except a Louisville commit we never sent a NLI to?

Taggart and Mullen are bout to get their first class boost and we just lost 4 studs from our strongest unit

Frierson is an elite athlete. Otherwise I agree with you. Offensive recruiting is about as good as you can. Defensive recruiting is a ******* mess. They got handed a deep DL and totally blew it.

Yeup. Frierson looks like an elite PR so he should’ve been included. 247 has his 40 yard at 4.5.

Defense recruiting is so frustrating because our weakest unit gets a talent infusion then the others drop off. It still blows my mind that we’ve heard smoke about 2 DTs, possibly 3 before the school ruled Willis ineligible, leaving to the draft and we only took 1 DT in 2017 and only have 1 DT committed a month from signing day. All the people talking about JUCOs don’t get it. All the good JUCO DTs are already signed. Richt will have to send out daily tweets saying, “Looking for a graduate transfer DT, U Fam!”

I hope Kool has a lot of faith in Rousseau & lands Chatfield because we are passing on a stud in Bonitto. I know Pete says we’re recruiting him at LB, but someone very close to the family told me we’ve been recruiting him at Dline but no offer yet

Richt is closing in on 20 years as a head coach.

Some of these issues (DT recruiting in the 2017, 2018 classes, RB recruiting in the 2017 class, OT recruiting overall, DB recruiting) shouldn't be happening.

Lost Jobe to Bama for whatever reason. Surtain looks like he's headed to LSU. Samuel to FSU...allegedly, Rumph wanted to recruit him earlier on but was told no, then we jump on him after Jobe flips but it's too late. That's amateur hour type *****.

Tyson Campbell. Looking bleak. The staff cannot fail with his kid.

This site needs a purge

It’s becoming insufferable with all the trolls or just people who flat out don’t understand football.

One of the problems with CaneInsight the scant amount of input from moderators and
knowledgable people about FB and the Canes. And your right I've thrown in my crap, but

mostly because it get bored with 90%nonsense.
My suggestions there be a separate section for people like Ariz, Paranos,Brock&Kyle and/or
posters who demonstrate a high level of knowledge. So have three;Eye,Recruiting and
Insiders.
