This may not be that useful to y'all lol, but I thought this data would be interesting to compile.

- Numbers display team ranks for every year.
- Horizontal lines display team rank averages over 4 years.
- Dashed lines represent teams we lost to.

> FAU, AKST, FAMU, and BCC were NOT included.
> Team rankings from Rivals.com.

GOLDEN ERA (2011-)

2011 SEASON:

2012 SEASON:

2013 SEASON:

2014 SEASON (TBD):

I guess if any conclusions can be drawn from this is that we MUST do more with what we've been pulling in (obviously)..

Golden is doing less with more than other teams in ACC.

I'm not sure what inefficiency you're looking to expose with that graph/illustration sir. It's not like Golden sucking **** as a coach is some mistery hidden in the numbers.

The only two things that stick out from that graph is how much better FSU's recruiting has been for the past 8 years and how ****** our 2011 signing class was.

Everything else there is white noise.

It's pretty simple actually.. You don't need to pay attention to the numbers, just the lines.

The lines are 4-year class rank averages leading up the corresponding season (e.g. 2008-11 chart = 2011 season).

I'm assuming that the 4-year class rank average = that team's quality (lower on the chart is better). And I'm comparing their averaged class ranks (how they are) to the results that season (how they fared).

I could have simply averaged the class ranks and typed the results beside them, but thought charts would make for an interesting visual.

Another thing that this reinforced is just how important coaching is (as opposed to just recruiting). Look the difference between us and Duke on the 2010-13 chart. We lost to those guys..

Your point is that the recruiting averages are much better than the actual performance on the field. That is for sure.

Hard for me to take any class rankings seriously when the 2010 class was ranked 16th. One of the worst classes we have ever signed.

Can you please stop using the 2011-2013 classes. These are not a direct reflection of Golden he did a great job with the situation he was given. You can't compare this situation to any other program in history.

Yes he got some great players that "boosted" recruiting numbers but he also had some positions that are very important that he had flat out misses.

All and all I don't see many coaches that can sell a program that 1) could possibly never play in a bowl game 2) could be faceing a possible school vhange from death penalty 3) scholarship reductions and would lead to poor play from not to tier guys 4) no stadium 5) small alumni 6) small school

None if there are Goldens fault and had to sell it to players time and time again. We know that coaches don't win games, players do. Give me a ok coach and great recruiter over the great coach and ok recruiter.

FYI: some guys are both namely Saban, Urban, Les, & Fisher. These coaches are not guys walking around everyday

That only applies when you are pulling in high 4* and 5* players. Who wouldn't take a great coach over an ok recruiter right now? Look at what Beamer did at VT before 2012.

Theoretically, this is a talent chart. Any time there is a dashed line above the dotted line representing Miami, those teams had less theoretical talent. While, they don't take everything into account, like injuries, suspensions, or scholarship restrictions, I like the charts. This is the type of data that could get a coach fired or get a coach a big raise.

OP, don't bother with charts.

This crowd ignores hard evidence and makes decisions based on hope and emotion. See the defensive trends charts.
