This might sound crazy after yesterday but this is the group that I have the most confidence in. McDonald might be our best coach on staff and is working with 2 5th year Sr's who have yet to play in 4 years, 1 Jr, 2 So's 1 Frosh. Hurns, Dorsett, Scott are all good solid receivers. Lewis has the potential to emerge as the next level receiver. By end of season don't be surprised if Thompkins and D. Johnson are passed up by Lockhart and Waters. If Fisch gives Morris more room to be aggressive this group could surprise all of us by midseason and be a force next year.

Agreed. Hurns, Scott, Dorsett and Lewis all looked pretty good to me. Good solid set of young receivers. Add Lockhart and or Waters and this group is very underrated. Hopefully not for long!

The potential is there, but they did not have a good game overall. I give most of them a pass as it was the first game, but way too many drops for comfort. Even Hurns looked like he was fighting some of the balls, which is not what I expect from the #1 possession guy. R Scott can be a deadly weapon with his size & speed, but ****, he did not come close to catching that ball that resulted in an INT. Thompkins, nice to have had you around, but the scout team is in the other room. The future is Lewis, and its NOW. He easily looked like the best receiver vs BC.

Group I have the most confidence in is the offensive line. If only the d line was anywhere close to where they're at, we would be a nasty team.

The wide outs have a ton of talent but the drops were brutal. Hopefully it was just nerves for the young guys.

Don't forget blocking. The blocking ability of these receivers (a reflection of their coaching) is overlooked and taken for granted.

Their blocking was huge, I agree. Same thing with the tight ends.

I predict that one of those slants to Rashawn Scott is going for either a TD or big gainer next week.

This.

But I'd argue there isn't a ton of talent. I see guys who are willing to work hard, and guys who can get open. I don't see yet a guy who is just so talented it jumps out at you. I think Lewis can be that guy, but it's too early to say after 1 game. As a corps, however, I think that this group could be huge problems for almost anyone once they gain experience and get comfortable playing every down.

If Lewis is healthy going forward, I can't see how he's not one of the 3 on the field most of the snaps. Not sure why, but also got a good feeling about Davon J, he looked solid out there, and looks like he's finally ready to contribute on O.
