Al Golden deserves tons of **** for the product on the field right now…..thats a given. Problems with scheme, game day adjustments, preparation for RAB, mind set of team,…...But, he's gotten A TON of abuse about his flirtation with Penn State over the last week….which to be honest, is insanely moronic!

His Alma Mater with very deep pockets came knocking and HE HAD TO LISTEN. Granted it has made his work harder with signing day a month a way…But, there is no argument about it, we all knew this day would come, and if you didn't, you're a ******* idiot.

And further more, i wouldn't want a head coach that is A. Not not sought after, or B. Dumb enough to not entertain the possibility of going from making $2.1MM per year to $4.5MM per year!

and if you don't get that…..thats why your a broke *****….. just sayin

He was never offered. If he was, it doesn't take you 6 days to turn an offer down while your recruiting class disintegrates. Which is why he was hiding out, with phone in hand, waiting for the call. During which he finally offered up a nonspecific, ambiguous statement about his intentions. Meanwhile no one on the team, in the admin or potential recruits knew what the **** he was doing.

Yeah. There's no problem there. So glad he stayed. And to think, we get to keep Doh'rito too! On the GoRlden road to mediocrity!

Agree 100% with OP. However, those in UM administration may not be so forgiving. He had to listen, they found a better candidate, now we move forward. I do think it is in Al's best interest to explain what, why and how. His last statement and press conference is just not enough. Fan base has to understand that he had to listen.

Only way Golden was going to take the job was if they offered it to him on the spot.
He was dictating the terms to them. They didn't accept so he withdrew himself as a candidate.
So when he stated on Monday morning that he as not a candidate for a HC at any school he was telling the truth.

He didn't dictate anything.

I'm 100% serious when I say, I don't give a ****. Golden should be gone for the simple reason that he is a mediocre coach with a below average football IQ. The Penn State fiasco was just the slice of cheese atop this **** sandwich that has become our football progrum. I have checked out with this coaching staff in place. I am and will always be a fan, so I will watch games, but the enthusiasm has been sucked out of me by this ****** staff.

I don't think he dictated anything. I think he withdrew because he needed an answer by Sunday.

I also think he left the door open through his agent.

in the life, this isn't considered to be honorable. Yet in coaching, this is the norm, and its what is done when they tried to get paid.. Golden gambled and lost.
