How do we realistically patch fix this D for rest of season? Scheme? Personnel?

Ps. Our ST stinks so lets kick out of endzone entire season please.

Man i wish i could pick 3 cats from 2017 D to place on this D. Id go with J. Johnson, Willis and mike jackson. Yes. This isnt a real idea. Just a dream.

Kicker needs to kick the dayum ball through the end zone. Our kick coverage has not looked good.

When it comes to D….#19 and #7 shouldn’t ever see the field again
 
They have been kicking the ball through the endzone pretty much every kick this year which makes me think that they weren't purposefully not doing it today (especially when they still didnt do it after the TD return).

Just hope for the best I think. If they are anything like last year they'll show up in some games. Certainly some talent there. But they'll get cooked against the right teams. Just need to hope the O can do what they've been doing when we face an elite D
 
Simplify the defense as much as possible. Just run the most basic unimaginative defense in football. Try and keep the game in front of the safeties. Stop the stunts and fake blitz action. Keep the lbs away from the los. Teams will still move the ball but it will hopefully limit the big easy plays teams are racking up on us. Touchdowns will be harder to come by and it gives the pass rush more opportunities to get a sack and maybe force a turnover or at least put the opposing offense behind the sticks. I don’t know what is wrong but it seems like some of these kids are overthinking everything. With our offense we can afford to give up some points. We can’t keep giving up 30+ a game.

Vince Wilfork, Sean Taylor, and Antrel Rolle.

Honestly no idea, we spent the entire first half of the year playing alot of press man. Today guidry knew brohm would exploit that so he played some zone with off coverage but turns out we are even worse with that

I say go back to the man coverage stuff, be better defending motion and let the dline lead us.

Also PLEASE, protect the edge of the defense man my lord if we abandon the edge again for a long run idk what im gonna do.
 
Fortunately Miami only faces one top 25 offense for the remainder of the regular season. Facing these less talented offensive teams should allow this defense to get back to the basics, playing the way they did at the start of the season. Getting Damari Brown back will be a big boost to the secondary.

The harsh reality is this secondary lacks championship level talent and Miami could still be a year or two away from having it.

Was just about to say this. Air Raid teams usually have trash defenses because going up against that type of O in practice week in and week out will stifle a defense.

As much as I'd love Willis, a good backer would help more. The guys have a solid line. Give me Shaq or Romeo Finley.

Aint chit going to change this year. We got to win shoot outs and thats are only shot. But the reality is we should win most of them win.Our offense is better then any team ive seen maybe minus Clemson who now looks to be cooking. I know yall may hate this the but id almost say play safe and try and get them into a bad spot near the red zone. then give them 4 downs of **** on wheels. maybe 8.
 
Stop playing the cornerback 8-10 yards off the WR is a start ! No wonder we could not stop all the underneath crossing routes!
These defensive backs can’t cover a baby with a blanket!
 
Imo we cant keep doing these shoot outs. We’re eventually gonna be on the wrong side of scoring and/or important ref calls.
