I know he's a freak athlete but is he a football stud or just a freak athlete??? PP was both... What about this kid?

Obviously isn't on PP level, but nobody is. He is a notch below Alexander/VH3, but very close. He was underrated IMO

So what is the story exactly with him? I know we won't get everyone so not overreacting but seemed to be very little talk about him...

No interest in miami?
No interest from Miami?

LSU has had runners in South Florida for a long time now. That is the main reason why they continue to be a contender in the SEC!

We got on him late, even if we got on him earlier though, he was an LSU guy

Peter,
You're around these guys so maybe you can shed some light on this......how important is it to get in on a guy early? Or first? Isn't it really as important as it seems to be based on the comments you see? I only ask b/c these guys haven't even started their senior years yet, so it doesn't seem to be "late", but by all accounts if you aren't on these kids by their junior years, it seems like you become a longshot. Is that true? Or just a false impression?

It's the evolution of college recruiting. To be honest, it's not that different than a number of other areas. For instance, studies have proven that people are more loyal to whomever gives them their first credit card. That's why credit card companies invest so much money into college campuses to be sure they're the first to "show the students love". The same is true in recruiting; the younger the player, the easier it is to mold their immature minds. Didn't mean to go all professorial on y'all.

Recruiting has changed so much. Everything happens so much earlier in a player's high school career now. Nowadays, if a kid doesn't have any offers heading into their senior year...they're pretty much SOL no matter how well they do senior year. They may pick up smaller level offers, but a big program usually won't offer.

As far as how it affects kids regarding how early a school gets on them, it is a big deal to them. A school doesn't necessarily have to be the first to offer, but they have to be showing early interest. A lot of kids nowadays have no idea how the process works so they feel disrespected. I remember at this time last year, Keith Bryant was telling me he was losing interest in Miami because they weren't showing interest. Mind you, this is when he had one offer, Marshall. Miami ended up being the first big-time program to offer him and now he says one of the reasons he feels loyal to Miami is that they were the first big program to offer.

A lot of kids honestly just lack patience.

The part about kids not being offered during their senior year, is a trend to keep an eye on. I think it opens the door for smaller schools to level the playing field. The big time schools are so caught up with just keeping up with the hype that more and more players will continue to fall thru the cracks. So many kids dont emerge til their senior years and a good amount of kids sometimes just peak early.
