Randy Shannon to TCU?

Linebackers coach in that system coaches exactly 2 players. Its not even a coordinator position. Interesting if he does take it.

Not really a fan of Shannon...

But if he goes there with an open mind (we all know how stubborn he is) and willing to absorb that whole system, would be a good move for him and he would come out a much better, well rounded coach..

is he still on the books?

I believe his buyout is being paid over the next 2 years (3 year payout) so yes, he is still on the books. The rumor is that if he takes another job that his new salary will be deducted from the annual buyout amount that UM is paying him so him getting another coaching job actually benefits UM financially. What I don't understand is why would a guy turn down 2 DC jobs (supposedly) then take a LB coaching job at TCU?

I think part of the reason Randy has not worked is that he is bitter towards UM for firing him and wants them to pay the full buyout. My guess is he will stay out of coaching until UM has fully paid his buyout. JMHO.

Who says HE turned the positions down? Maybe he was never seriously considered for them.

That is why I said supposedly. It was widely reported that he was offered the Maryland DC and he turned it down but the Tenn. DC was just hear-say. No one really knows if he was actually offered those positions besides Randy, the schools, and his agent.

His lack of ability(maybe it's interest) in getting another job makes me think there's either something in his termination that prevents it or he really doesn't impress in interviews.
For the record I don't dislike the man, it's not his fault he was over promoted.
