Raising Canes - Malcolm Lewis Returns

Excited for Lewis and maybe he and his family liked the gesture, but it just seems kind of weird to me really.

To the people that hated the Lewis play.

Why do you care? It was 1 minute during an entire game. Even if you hated the idea the play took up very little time out of an entire scrimmage.

Al beat half the team to the endzone

it was a spring game, in which South Carolina threw a pass to Clowney in the end zone as he was coming off the sideline, or when Florida was messing around with some weird special team plays.

you need to stop pretending that

1. Spring ball is an NFL practice before the superbowl
2. the team somehow owes you something to put on a full contact proper game for you to enjoy

Before Golden this team was a MESS. Randy drove so many wedges between players and classes that it wasn't even a team anymore but a collection of cliques within out team. Malcolm lewis was one of the players out of Miami that trusted Golden and came to Miami. Golden promised to take care of him and he is doing JUST that.. Specially when he needs it the most.. when he is injured and recovering.

When Lewis is up and running and catching TD's you would be yelling at the TV cheering and having a great time, but the road to get there sometimes is as simple as putting him in for 1 play to catch the ball and feel the energy from the team and get him to the next milestone.

SO.. lets let Golden do his job because so far, he has been doing just that

how someone has a problem with the M.L play at the scrimmage is beyond me. this guy is fighting back from injury and yet you (so called fan) want to criticize....do us a favor and burn all your cane stuff, go to the store, buy a Florida Gaytor shirt, put it on, and then jump in front of a bus...please please please!!!

I never mentioned the things you said. Where did I ask for a full contact proper game? Your accusing me of a lot really. Did you even read the one sentence I wrote? One play at a spring game isn't going to affect anything come this fall. Malcom Lewis isn't Rudy, he is a legit D1 WR that is going to have an excellent career. He took on his injury like a man. In high school I was injured twice while wrestling and I know when I came back I didn't want to be treated any different. Its an opinion and made Malcolm loved it, but if I was in his shoes I would have not liked it at all.

Exactly.. and throwing a pass to Clowney is a weird play too so I don't get what his point is. Just because all springs games have weird **** doesn't mean this wasn't weird.

I just felt like it was little forced but I still liked the idea and hopefully it meant a lot to Malcolm.

Lewis is a big-time sleeper. I think just about everyone wrote him off in the moments following his injury.

he was quickly becoming our go to receiver. From what I see he is very skilled at his position and not just in practice but during game times he is able to make plays, get open and catch.

Injuries like this mess with your head allot and I am hoping this season he takes it a bit easy, doesn't get hurt again and produces on his way to the NFL

Andrew, I'd never say you're wrong, but maybe you're looking at this wrong.

We've all been badly injured sometime in our past. Around 1:00AM, it became my turn on the radio in the middle of the jungle. The moment I sat back, a snake in the pitch black bit me on the side of my arm right at the elbow, and it was on fire. With my fists I struck the little SOB a few times before he got away from me.

I was supposed to get my relief a couple hours later, but since I didn't want to wake up dead, I thought I'd stay awake and if HE came for me, I wanted to see him coming. The next morning, my arm was double it's original size, the skin was painful from being so tight, and I could barely wiggle my fingers.

The medic took pity on me and to protect the tender skin as I walked point and broke brush, he wrapped it in some Ace Bandages. Then he slung my shotgun over my shoulder, carefully pushed my swollen finger through the trigger guard, and then duct taped my hand to the pistol grip of that shotgun.

He asked how I felt, and I had to squint a bit as light hurt my eyes, my arm was throbbing and burning, I felt nauseous, and my eyes felt another six inches deeper in my skull than normal. He went into his pack and gave me two fingers of Jim Beam medicinal bourbon. I felt better.

All Golden did, was to give Malcolm a taste.

Now. That's not so strange, is it?

Malcom Lewis getting hurt kinda reminded me of when the same thing happened to Melvin Bratton. I just hope when Malcom comes back, he's the same player.
