I realize some of the TE's we are recruiting will be Olineman but why are we after so many with Dobard and T. Johnson on board? Especially with the emergence of Walford last year. If we are only taking 15-16 why are we potentially bringing in 5 HS TE's. Kerr will be a lineman and will definetly redshirt. Dobard and Johnson look like they could be ST guys year one if needed.

MizCane in another thread someone mentioned that football players with the size and athleticism to play TE in college can potential play other positions including, as you mention, offensive line. I imagine that lowers the risk of bringing in a kid who if he doesn't work out ends up not being able to contribute because presumably you would be able to move an athletic TE type to another position - DE, LB, OL, etc.

It tells me current TEs on the roster will be asked to seek shelter elsewhere, especially if Sandland pulls the trigger.

Travis Johnson, Standish Dobard, Kerr all committed.

Throw in Beau Sandland and Wozniak...that would be 5.

Warlord, Cleveland, White, Dye would all be on the roster next year. That would be 9 if Beau and Wozniak commit.

I bet Kerr is an OL here...Wozniak too.
Cleveland is shown the door...

leaving 3 incoming guys and 3 already here. Dobard or Johnson RS and you have 5 for next season. Sandland instantly becomes the best TE on the team, followed by warlord.

It will be interesting to see who Golden asks too seek shelter elsewhere...

im intrigued. to become an elite program you have to cut dead weight. Cleveland is pretty much dead weight at this point. Honestly, one of Dye/White is as well. Decide which is the better blocker and release one from the team.

I think golden needs to trim alot of fat, not just at the TE position.

Do any have the skill set to become a rush end? Demarcus Ware was a wr coming out of high school if I remember correctly.

Because it is not enough to have a player line up at tight end, we need TALENT.

Perry, Cleveland and White do not add any talent at the position. They are bodies who don't help us on offense.

We need about 5-6 tight ends on the roster who have talent, 1-2 may redshirt next year as well.

The quickest way to make our 2013 offense better is a TIGHT END. Throwing Beau Sandland in there would really make the caliber of talent out there elite.

Cory White was given a framed jersey at the banquet yesterday that all the seniors got, he's not coming back.

TE's are an underutilized weapon. The Patriots have two really good ones and are virtually unstoppable on offense. I can see Fisch wanting to go in that direction with our O.

Beau and Warlord go HAM next year

One of Dobard and Johnson redshirts

Maybe both if Dye is serviceable

The rest kick rocks
