Does anyone know if we have the coaches recruiting areas, or their positions?

In other words, is the D line coach recruiting a geographical area or is he after D linemen regardless of where they are?

I know in the past some staffs have had areas to recruit and others have had the coaches working their positions and travelling all over.

To my understanding every big school does a mixture of both. Yes you tend to have a coach recruit an area and be the lead recruiter for a prospect in that area, regardless of position, because he knows the coaches and school better. That really helps in getting to know the player and understanding what he is thinking. He has already developed strong relationships with the coaches so now he only has to build that relationship with the player and teammates. But of course the position coach is going to recruit the player as well and form a relationship with him. Just because Hartley was the main recruiter for Payton does not mean that Dugans didn't talk and recruit him too.

If the player is out-of-state and in an area where we don't recruit every year then we would put the position coach as their lead recruiter. Look at Hartley the past years, he was in charge of Jacksonville, but when it came to Mallory and Jordan he was their main recruiter as well because they were out of state and his position.
