Copped this but thought it was a valid question & scenario

No flame - but this scenario concerns me w ncaa Edit | Reply
If they decide in June, or any month before August practices, that we are to serve another bowl ban in 2013.

Even if we appeal, wouldnt they allow current players to transfer without sitiing out a year?

I know we have a tight knit team, but i worry about opposing coaches coming in & swiping a few

Not to mention certain south florida high school coaches orchestrating with other sec & acc schools to sway them to play in a bowl game

****, its how we got Seantrel after all

Now the childish posters will name call or deny that any current player would leave, but can any knowledgable posters chime in and ease my concerns & tell me this wont happen

Thanks. Just covering all angles before i exhale & think this is over

They would allow seniors since it would be one more year. With usc, they got 2 bowl bans, and allowed juniors and seniors to transfer.

Wouldnt they allow recruits too? Seantrel was only a recruit

Seantrel wasn't an NCAA situation. That was a situation where he committed to 'SC on the condition that if the hammer got dropped, he would be released from his LOI

You're right. I think his pops pulled a fast one and never sent in his entire signing package, or held back on submitting some enrollment paperwork.....something along those lines.

Pretty sure the ncaa feels these kids signed with usc/um knowing they were under investigation and knew that sanctions were a possibility. If this goes on for more than 3 or 4 years, who knows what they will let kids do. ncaa has proven they dont give a sh*t and will do whatever they want whenever they want, so who knows?

I believe it would be a violation for any school to come and try to recruit one of our players to transfer to their school, no matter what sanctions are handed down. I think the player has to inquire with the school he's looking to transfer to first. I'm not sure how it works for players who signed their LOI but haven't enrolled yet.

I would be shocked if we got a 3rd bowl ban. Technically, we've already forfieted 3 post-season games and over 30 practices..

Zero chance of any more bowl bans. Probably looking at 9 scholies over 3 years, 3 year probation, and maybe some other minor stuff.

Yeah, and stuff like recruit contact, official visits, and stuff like that..

IF we did get a ban, it's hard for me to imagine Morris or Porter or Henderson or Linder bolting on this team. Perhaps some of the more role playing seniors might like a situation at another school to get much more playing time and exposure in what is essentially their contract year. But as far as major contributing seniors, I doubt it.
