Question for Dmoney...

I do feel there will be changes. Not necessarily the one everybody wants.

Thanks for the quick response. I am very fearful for the future of the program. It seems clear to me that the administration is really not committed to having a top football program. I am also very fearful that if their was an unspoken rift between the community and Golden it is only going to get bigger after this weekend.

If you think Dorito's defense is bad you don't remember how bad the defensive mess was in '84 under Jimmy. Of course, he had part of his staff forced upon him. He had the burden to fix it and he did. Now, Al and Dorito have a responsibility to do what it takes to get it straightened out. I don't know if the infusion of young talent-and there is quite a bit coming-can have an effect in 2014. We should start to see some improvement this year but if we're still as bad at the end of 2014, Al is going to be on a very hot seat.

Yeah, the ones who have anything resembling an idea of whats going on with this program jump ship and leave Al and the worst DC in the history of UM football behind

If Onfrio is standing on that sideline on opening day next season...I'll be rooting for the opposition.

Enough with this garbage.

my concern D$, is that if he doesn't get rid of D'onfrio now, its not like we will have an big immediate impact on that side of the ball from all the new talent.. It will take a couple years, thus he will have to deal with the pressure of having to fire him all through next year and into the offseason as well.. Kinda needs to rip it off like a bandaid

Realistically IMO we need to get rid of:

Dnofrio
Franklin
Barrow

dont think Barrow has done a bad job but he is supposed to coach the linebackers, but in this scheme our linebackers dont really play linebacker... they play more like safetys. Barrow can coach up LB's to be aggressive and hand placement and how to get around blocks all he wants, but if we play a passive scheme like we have been then all that is moot.

Franklin will probably be the only one X'd if i had to guess, and there might be some coaches that take better jobs (carroll, williams)

We all know that Golden staying regardless of opinion helps save the class. To seal up the class we all know that Coley, Brown, and Barrow are a huge part of that. If there are changes on defense the only logical choices are Williams, Franklin and No D IMO

Would like to see Kevin Patrick brought in for franklin if he goes. But I doubt golden gets rid of anyone from his temple staff so I doubt franklin or Williams go so who is he going to get rid of? Carroll maybe which would be a mistake I think

To continue ranting, I feel bad for Barrow. Dude is as solid a Cane as one could be. He has been through the fire with us and remains true under any regime. He is loyal to the BRAND. He deserves better at this point.

no way he gets rid of carroll. dude is going to be a good OC one day IMO.

I don't think he would get rid of Carroll either, but also didn't think a coach would keep a DC after last year. He seems loyal to his temple boys too so I don't know who he will get rid of off staff. Maybe Kehoe? Seems like players like him though. Barrow, coley, and brown are too important for recruiting purposes and Scott was just hired last year. That only leaves grad assistants

Another question D, under any circumstance can Blake James step in and fire Dorito or ask Golden to fire him? If true, can you see Blake doing this if the defense struggles mightily again and Golden doesn't pull the trigger?
