Question about D

With our defensive line being so bad, why do we continue to play 8-12 yards off their receivers? If press coverage was coached the proper way and somewhat executed it should buy our d-line some much needed time to create some pressure. However, we give their receivers so much room, create zero pass rush and we wonder why we give up 550 yards a game. Am I crazy here or does anyone else feel the same way?

Because we play a lot of Cover 3.

We actually played a lot of different defenses today from watching in real time including Cover 2 Man and Cover 1. The Bernard catch on 4th was on Cover 1 (again from watching in real time so not 100% positive).

IMO, when teams spread us out like UNC did I'd like to see us have more then 2 CBs on the field.

We actually played up on the receivers a lot more today than in any other game this season. We actually showed a lot of different defensive looks altogether. Maybe Coach D is starting to trust the defense? Maybe we'll see more of the defensive playbook?
