Let me preface this by saying we still are going to take some lumps, but could this be the game sometime in the future that we look back and say this is where the tide truly turned? Time will tell, but games like this one can be a program changer.

Na, I think the program changer would be if we win next week.

And then could somehow beat a ND or FSU. That would signal something huge.

But **** this feels amazing.

It may very well be. Our team last season would lose this game. We grew up. Faced adversity on the road and won against a good team. We're also young as ****. Couldn't be happier

if not a true 'program changer' but a building block to the future. Make no doubt, this win is huge( it would be made huger if they can come out and beat NCST- which will not be an easy game, IMO)

Agreed. Easy to tank after seeing a big early lead disappear and see one of your young studs come down with a serious injury. On the road, no less. Definitely something to build on.

I think a program changer would be beating Notre Dame in a couple of weeks.

Wouldn't go that far but I bet some of these young guys grew up today. Chickillo, Johnson, Bush, Duke, Dorsett, Scott, ect will be the score of this team the next few years and they showed a lot of promise today.

Program changer? Maybe. But still a very important win. This is going to take time. We have a VERY young team. But these kids are close. Said it even after KSU. We really hurt ourselves in that game, and it got away from us. But these kids have consistenly played with heart under Golden. They play hard for 4 quarters, something we havent seen since 2001. Even the 2002 squad was mailing it in by the 3rd quarter. Its refreshing to have those Four Fingers at the end of the third mean something again.

I think in two years, barring some crushing sanctions from the NCAA, and with a few more pieces to the puzzle, along the DL and a servicable QB, we are going to be a top 10 team and in the MNC hunt. This team has a TON of young talent, and they have heart. As they get better, and learn the game, develop physically, this team is going to be LETHAL.

Today was GREAT to boost the confidence of these kids. It will also help Golden get some buy in from the young kids. Shows them that you dont quit, you keep pushing for 60 minutes.

not a program changer. we are not to that point yet. in 2 years when/if we beat a top 5 type team that would be a program changer. today was a nice win to save our season from being a disaster and help keep our recruiting momentum

Program changer? No, beating FSU in 2000 was a program changer.

What we saw today was a program, "learning how to win."

We saw similar games fall away the last few seasons and the comment, "we have not learned how to win" was always uttered.

Well, I believe today a lot of young players learned important lessons-- conditioning matters in winning, ignoring the zebras matters in winning, pressing on matters in winning, no game is out of reach and I am sure a lot more.

This, good to see you over here.

Not this game in particular but we are finding ways to win games, not lose them. I would say that's program changing.

Not quite a program changer. We'll get an even better sense of what this team is made of next week. Very winnable conference game against a team that hasn't played a real game in a month. Must win.

i dont think this is a "program changer" but its certainly a nice building block for the future. yesterday showed that this team has heart and isnt going to quit. they are learning how to step up and make plays when they need to, they clearly buy into what the staff is preaching and they seem like they would all run through a wall for the staff. speaking of the staff, i think they are figuring out how to work with what they have, the offense put up 600+ yards against an al groh defense and the defense made plays to stop the best rushing attack in the country. next week will also tell us something about this week. if we can leave this win in atlanta and move on, it will also be a sign of where this team is heading in the future because its very easy for a young team to take the emotion of a win like that and let it interfere with their focus for the next week.

we still have a difficult schedule going forward, and i fully expect this team to make mistakes and be outplayed at times against the best teams we will still face, but im excited for the future of the program as i feel we have all the right pieces in place, and as the kids continue to get bigger, faster and stronger and gain more experience, good things will happen

laying a brick...

This. Beating a top ranked FSU would be a program changer. But this was a great effort.

A tip of the cap to D'Onofrio and our front 7. I fully expected us to need 40 to win today, and I'm still in shock we held them to 7. Spence is the man, and Perryman is a monster in the making. I'm really fired up about this one. Now lets hang 50 on those c0cksuckers this Thursday.

Excellently put Gobbles. If we win, I want everyone to read that quote again. Everyone was sure we were going to lose last year. And when we won convincingly, everyone thought our defense had turned a corner. That's what made the loss to "those c0cksuckers" the following Thursday more frustrating. Starting to get jammed up about last year all over again.

This is what I wrote in my gameday post.
