You know the deal, lots of Canes making lots of plays, and compared to last week, this past weekend saw a few more touchdowns. Here’s your Week 5 recap of ProCanes in the NFL.
RB
In a tough loss that saw the Dolphins lose their undefeated record, Frank Gore was the only player to reach the endzone as finished with a couple of catches for 16 yards and one touchdown as well as 41 yards on the ground. Bengals’ rookie RB Mark Walton finally got his first carries of his career, finishing with nine yards on five carries on the ground to go with two catches for 28 yards, but his 24-yard reception cannot be forgotten, spinning the brakes off of Texans DB Brian Poole in the flat. Walton would later leave the game to be evaluated for a possible concussion. In that same game, Texans RB Lamar Miller finished with 14 carries for 49 yards in a thrilling OT win over the Colts. Browns utility man Duke Johnson finished carried the ball two times for 11 yards and adding four catches for 45 yards.
WR
In a rebound game for his team against the Dolphins, Patriots WR Phillip Dorsett had four catches for 55 yards with a beautiful arms-extended touchdown catch. The Cowboys’ Allen Hurns had three receptions for 30 yards in a win over the Lions.
TE
In a 22-0 blanking of the Buffalo Bills, Packers TE Jimmy Graham had three catches for 21 yards and one touchdown. Browns TE David Njoku had a steady day, finishing with five catches for 52 yards in a tough loss to the Raiders.

Jaguars DE and, frankly, very large man, Calais Campbell had three tackles in a win at home against the Jets, and Colts DE Al-Quadin Muhammad finished with two tackles in a loss to the Texans.

LA Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman had four tackles in a close victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
DB
LA Rams CB Sam Shields is having himself a solid year so far, adding four tackles in a win over Minnesota. Steelers CB and former first-round pick Artie Burns also had four tackles in a loss at home to the Ravens.

If you guys haven’t noticed, it’s going to be the same two guys for the special teams section of this article every week, but both have done great things for the Canes and their respective teams now nonetheless. Falcons P Matt Bosher had only one punt this weekend for 41 yards and Bears P Pat O’Donnell had two punts for 96 yards, his longest being 51 yards.
