When did Miami start having walkons take official visits?

Seems like this staff is putting a lot of effort in building the walkon talent on this team. I like the idea of it, hopefully they can find a diamond in the ruff.

Have to man!! We arent as lucky as state schools that has a decent amount of guys that walk on..

With UM's price tag it takes a bit of red carpet treatment even for a PWO

That doesn't make sense.
Unless NCAA rules have changed, you can't take an OV at a school and then enroll as a walkon.
It's no different than bringing in a kid on an OV and then he ends up on campus with an athletic
scholarship at another sport (happened to us with Scott Puckett during the Butch years).

There's no issue with a walk-on taking an OV. It's perfectly legal per the NCAA, and Marshall Few did it last year.

The rule is you get a certain number of OVs (I think its 45-50), and can't go beyond that.

Under previous staffs we gave out a lot of free vacations. Richt has shown he won't use OVs unless a kid is serious about Miami. So we have OVs left over, mght as well use them to get better walk-ons
