Per the Beast on CaneInsider

Today was a very light and short practice at greentree..

think the highlight of my day was seeing a tesla and a sweet ferrari outside o hecht.

meanwhile..in the early work...we were able to see al coaching special teams, special situations...saw some fakes...saw them working on returning a short long-range fg a la Devin Hester...saw them working on different returns etc...man Al gets into it...I would have loved to know Al when he was a coordinator or position coach...talk about tough love..


some other observations..OP is taking massive steps forward..every person I've talked to has gone out of their way to mention him

-Got a spy report that Standish Dobard looked really good today..I asked SteMo about him and he said if the kid can become consistent he'll be a stud...

-Denzel in green again today..I'm not concerned...this is all about trying to get the most out of him..it's not a matter of talent..it's a matter of vocal leadership..especially for someone who's nickname is the President.

-In Black - Chick, Gaines, Fig, Shayon, OP, A Crawford, Gunter, Kirby,

-Al talked about being able to almost go two deep on the oline...knighton, wells, odagwu have all impressed.

-Orlando Franklin came back and spoke to the oline..told them that in the nfl almost every OL knows how to snap, so more and more guys on our ol have been working on snapping ..just in case

-just a logistical note on the scrimmage in naples...the way the ncaa rules work...once the team gets on the buses to head west, it counts as a practice..so even if they get 5 miles up the road and get a call from naples that there is something wrong with the field...doesn't matter..they lose a practice day...while the weather looks bad for early in the day..looks like it should clear up by the evening..hopefully in time for the scrimmage..capacity at naples high is 8000...the school is expecting 10k....get there early if you are going...also parking will be across the street at the mall...

-kevin olsen was watching practice again today...he looks shorter in person than on film...he could still grow an inch or two though...

-Bernie Kosar was in the house today...as was Najeh Davenport.


I'll be uploading plenty of audio from post practice later..including exclusive interviews with Jimmy Gaines and Shane McDermott. Stay tuned for that this evening.

denzel looks massive as usual

deon's neck is about 5' in circumference

antrel rolle was there this morning

kevin olsen was there as well with his pops
 
ryan williams threw a nice ball over the middle for a 60-yard(ish) touchdown

In all seriousness, I miss having guys like him and Quad Hill at FB. We could use some hands from that position. Wasn't Mcgahee originally a FB?

No we just put him there from time to time if someone went down and we needed someone to play that role. He was always a rb and was bought in to play rb.

He did start rose bowl as fb tho, on cp long run I think he blocked no one, lol..
