Potential Portal DB’s (CB’s & S’s only)

I know it wasn’t Knowles, but who was the safety that whiffed on an INT and the picture used to be all over this site. Highsmith?

Quality over quantity. I'd rather get two IMPACTFUL guys over 5 scrubs that are there to "fill out the roster". We cant keep filling our roster with more Mauigoas, Richards, Hills, Aldermans, etc. They're all useless out there. We spent all this money on a talented 23 and 24 class. Let me go out there and play
 
Penn state, ole miss and IU all vastly upgraded their defensive backfield through the portal. Unfortunately we have to replace Guidry and bring in talent to the defensive backfield via the portal. Most guys don’t want to go somewhere knowing the coach is bailing. So it’s really threading the needle and that worries me. Furthermore, we have two tf coming in off massive injuries.

Where is the hope? I think last years haul with Mack, Day, OJ, and Thomas could be good next year and excellent as juniors. I also think the defensive talent at DL is encouraging. No doubt we need 2 quality dbs, and that’s not an impossibility.

I love Isiah Thomas but he has had some bad injuries. One reason I like Walters is he develops DB's. we have some talent but they need coaching. Brown, OJ, Quan, Day, etc seem to have the natural ability.

Hope is to get rid of the coaches early and hire someone at a fast pace.

I liked the kid more than Damari coming out of HS, stated it several times. That being said he has struggled the little bit I’ve seen him, including against us earlier this fall.

Again, yes we need bodies desperately. But that doesn’t mean take several guys who got benched/struggled when they played. Between this kid and someone like Humphrey, I think you just take 1 of them. JMO 🤷🏾‍♂️
