With the 2016 class underway and coming to a closing with a lot of work still needed to be done, I thought I jump ahead a little and give my insight on guys the staff should go after in the 2017 class. The staff certainly got off to a good start philosophy wise by offering Billy Gibson Jr, 6'1 185 Safety out of Miami Southridge today. Gibson Jr excels playing down hill and laying the wood, closes on the ball fast. He isn't the only Southridge player I would expect the staff to go after.
Shawn Davis- 6'1 190 CB Miami Southridge
I have seen this kid name brought up on this site before. He looks to have grown in height and weight since last year. Davis really high points the ball well and has good hip flexibility and good press man coverage. Would love to see a class of Bandy and Davis.
Alec Sinkfield- American Heritage B/D 5'9 165 ATH/RB
Not too sure if he has a legit offer from UM, but this kid can ball and is quickly gaining more offers. Sinkfield reminds me of a Joe Yearby but with a quicker twitch. Sinkfield has good feet and excellent vision. IMO, I would not mind trying to sign 3 big backs in Burns, Sermon, and maybe an Anthony from IMG (pipe dream but anything can happen in recruiting) and also taking Sinkfield to add to a diverse group. I say 3 because 2017 is filled with Rbs and OL, when a class is stack at certain positions we should take full advantage of it, a philosophy Saban definitely gets with 3 Rbs already committed. 2015-2016 season - Alec Sinkfield highlights
Chei Hill- South Dade 6'1 220 OLB
Kyron Taylor is not the only recruit I hope we go after at South Dade in the 2017 class. Chei Hill is one of the best wrestlers in the nation. This is a kid every football team needs. This is the type of player kids hate going against in practice because he brings 100% effort on every play, one even realizes this when watching his other teammates film, you'll see him closing to the ball. Hill lines up at DE/OLB for South Dade and gets off blocks/double teams easily. I would love this LB class to consist of Steed, Dunning, Wilder, and Hill. chei hill - Chei Hill highlights
Its a fact in SFL that one can not get them all, but if you miss one you can find a player with a similar or better skill set in SFL or nationwide. Moving forward I hope our philosophy is aiming to add elite depth each class regardless of ratings, and also adding more mobile and faster OL/DL. More importantly, I am pumped to see what the coaches can do on the field.
