I'll steal from Espn for this stat: Miami can still win 10 games, an important measuring stick for programs. Roughly one quarter of the 124 FBS teams have a shot at 10 wins this year. The Canes are one of them.

Make no mistake, winning the bowl game and 10 games would be huge for this program and probably the best thing this senior class will leave here. (10 games or beating UF)

The last 10 years have been like watching the VT game over and over. We are right there but we just cant break through. Winning 10 game would be that break through. I dont care we lost 3 in a row. We beat every team on the schedule we should have beat and lost 2 50/50 games. We won 2 of those 50/50 games last year.

If we win 10 games this year I think it will make the JR class that much hungrier because they know the only next step is the ACC title game and they have to make it.

Don't let the thought of losing the bowl game enter your head in this thread. Lets just hope for a positive match up and go out and win and finish the season ranked.

There is no positive canes season with F$U standing on top of college football.

We were extremely lucky to beat UNC and WF.

This team could easily be 7-5
(More so than 10-2 or 11-1)

We aren't even close to being near the top.

We lost to Duke

Duke was better than us. Posters on this board act like Duke is some joke this year or some ****. They are an extremely well coached team and Cutcliffe has been building that team for 6 years. This isn't the same Duke we've been playing for the past 10 years. We have to accept that they were just straight up better. Sorta like we were straight up better than them in basketball last year.

But we aren't 7-5, bud. In the past, we would have lost those games to WF and UNC. But we DIDN"T. We're 9-3 and in a good position to get 10 wins. Stop with the "Oh we should've lost blah blah blah". If this is how you base football games, then OSU could easily be 9-3 instead of 12-0. But they aren't. They're on their way to a title game pending the Big10 championship.

I definitely think there's a lot of progress this year. To go from 6-6 to 7-5 to 9-3 shows progress since Golden has gotten here and is exactly the type of progress we need and should be expecting. It's not like one year we're all going to be elite again all of a sudden, I really do believe it takes time and that Golden will eventually get us there. We got the sanctions lifted, we established ourselves clearly as the 2nd best team in Florida, and went 5-3 in the ACC having to play FSU as one of our atlantic teams (VT and Duke both escaped having to play either FSU or Clemson). Next year we are DEFINITELY the team to beat in the coastal and I think it'll be the first time in awhile where we start the season ranked AND are predicted nearly unanimously to win the coastal. Just have patience and remember that we were 7-0 at one point (we all seem to forget that).

That's the biggest crock of **** that in the past or last year we would've lost that game.

Last year we came back against GT.

The ACC sucks and we can't win the fvckin coastal no matter how many chances we're given.

We returned everyone from last year and statistically speaking, in the ACC, defensively our numbers are worse!!

You half glass full losers were the same ones making excuses during the Shannon regime.

Texas tech was 7-0 before playing real opponents and now they are 7-5.

We had a cakewalk schedule my friend.

Recruiting is the only progress I've seen. Everything else on the field hasn't changed (in most regards it's worse!!)

I definitely understand where you're coming from and I agree with you to an extent. But GT, UNC, and even UF were quality wins IMO. UNC went on a 5 game winning streak after losing to us so they really weren't all THAT bad and we were the only team to beat UF while they were healthy. I know people point to us losing the yardage battle and say the only reason it was even close was because we got all of those turnovers but those were made due to good plays on the defense for the most part. The WF, second half of FSU, VT, and Duke games were all pretty inexcusable. We weren't at any point the 7th best team in the country, but I definitely think we're in the top 25. If we could beat Louisville or UGA in a bowl game then I think we'd all look back on this season relatively positively, or at least more than we have for any season in the past 5 years or so. We aren't losing too many seniors so next year we should only be better. I'm not saying this year was incredible or that "the U is back, baby", all I'm saying is that there was progress, however slight it may be, and that is something positive to look at from this season.

This was our starting lineup for Duke. Looks to me like we're missing a lot of talent at linebacker, and Duke took advantage of that in their scheme.

DE 71 ANTHONY CHICKILLO 4 stars
DT 96 CURTIS PORTER 3 stars
DT 91 OLSEN PIERRE 3 stars
DE 51 SHAYON GREEN 3 stars

OLB 31 TYRONE CORNILEUS 3 stars
MLB 59 JIMMY GAINES 2 stars
OLB 52 DENZEL PERRYMAN 3 stars

CB 3 TRACY HOWARD 5 stars
S 2 DEON BUSH 4 stars
S 26 RAYSHAWN JENKINS 3 stars
CB LADARIUS GUNTER 3 stars

No solace in having back to back worst defenses in UM history and the reason for it possibly returning next year

I swear to god. It's like you're not even allowed to look at the positive side of things around here. There are a lot of things looking up for this program, but you'd never imagine that reading these boards.

I'm not even saying the naysayers concerns aren't legit. It's just they have to **** in every thread known to mankind.

On a positive note, I like the fact we got tougher and fought. I like that we came out with our fist up against Pitt when evryone thought we would lay an egg.
