The Miami Hurricanes have been particularly active in the portal along the offensive line in the last couple of days since it opened. Liberty C Jordan White is set to visit Miami next week, telling CaneSport he’ll come on the 17th, and Miami’s also offered North Texas C Tyler Mercer, Arizona LG Wendell Moe, Jr., Charlotte OL Kendall Stanley. Vanderbilt LT/LG Gunnar Hansen also tells us he’s considering Miami.

And now CaneSport has confirmed another OL visit is very much in the works.

Liberty’s Xavior Gray, White’s teammate, lists an offer as well and confirmed for CaneSport today that as it pertains to getting on Miami’s campus he will “probably set it up for next week.” Northwestern is also high in his picture.

Miami’s seeking help on a line that is expected to lose guard/tackle Jalen Rivers to the NFL as well as center Zach Carpenter. The returners with starting experience are LT Markel Bell, LG Matthew McCoy, RG Anez Cooper and RT Francis Mauigoa.

Gray is a 6-8, 340-pound right tackle. If Miami adds him it would add depth and perhaps signal that Francis Mauigoa could also work inside, which some have speculated might be his ultimate position in the pros.

As for Gray’s background?
He transferred to Liberty from Akron last year and was an All-Conference honorable mention pick after starting every game at right tackle (he started five games at Akron from 2019-22). Per PFF Gray graded out at 70 percent overall this year at RT but was at just 49.3 percent pass blocking and a solid 77.9 as a run blocker. A year ago his overall grade was 59.9 (57.4 pass blocking, 62.2 run blocking).

Do we really need a transfer TE?
not a high priority.

Mario uses like 4 tes a year though and we lose 2.

We're bringing in 2 so one may just be for an upgrade watching the development of Jackson Carver this spring. Riley is a pretty good starter, Lofton is swiss army....Schott incoming is a vertical threat the 6'7 kid may need to shirt butif they can get a 1 year rental im sure they gonna take it

Gbayor has worked as both middle and weak-side linebacker with a run-defense grade of 80.9 per Pro Football Focus while posting a 10 percent missed tackle rate over the past two seasons, which is a solid number.

In coverage, he has been targeted 26 times, allowing 21 catches for just 146 yards (7.0 yards per catch) with a long of 26 yards. He's allowed just two touchdowns in coverage with three career pass breakups (all in 2024).
