Would Miami take Singleton and Conception if possible?

It looks like Mateer is Plan A and the others are not a complete upgrade over Emory imo in the eyes of the staff. I haven’t seen any smoke indicating that we offered or are interested in any of the qbs available.

There will be others in the portal after bowl games as well..

To answer your first question, yes, they absolutely would.

What's better than one great WR? Two.

Second point,

- Chandler Morris
- Fernando Mendoza
- Maalik Murphy
- Kaidon Salter
- Preston Stone
- Braylon Braxton

Are all significant & massive upgrades currently in the Portal over Emory. It's just a matter of picking the right one & negotiating market value depending on what happens in relation to Mateer.

There's also guys like, Seth Henigan, Josh Hoover, Brendan Sorsby, Sawyer Robertson, Owen McCown, JC French etc, that haven't entered the Portal, but with an enticing enough offer very well could.

The strategy should be pretty simple, get the best players available to make the team better & help us win the ACC.

That's really all there is to it.

Emory as a true freshman beat Clemson and also FSU. Are the others significant upgrades?

Hopefully we could get mateer watched his highlights that kid is nasty, also he’s from Texas like ward and king who have been real good for us.and like u said we should get more Texas kids I agree specially the quarterbacks a lot of good ones come from that state

Emory did nothing that game against Clemson not turn the ball over. He broke his arm running for a first down in slow motion. I don’t get the love. Do you think Malik Rosier is the 2nd best QB in the last 20 years ? He won more games than Harris, Kaaya, Morris, and King

You've mentioned Henigan when talking portal QBs. Does he actually have any shot at another year of Eligibility? Though he was fully done.... I like him, just don't think there is any shot of him having another year tbh.

Hoover, Sorsby, Sawyer Robertson are 3 guys I would really like to lure into the portal if we miss on Mateer for sure. Honestly I'd probably choose them 3 over all but maybe Chandler Morris of the 6 guys you listed out of guys already in the portal. Maybe Mendoza if we can get like a good home town discount going for us... Stone just seems like a massive red flag after Lashlee passed him up after the great 2023 season he had. That's too risky imo.

BTW, What you think about Devon Dampier?

Emory has limited arm strength, so vertical attacks are going away. His strong suit has to be the 0-15 yard range of throws, aka the short and intermediate game.

For us to excel in that area, two things needs to happen: 1. As much quickness and athletic ability as you possibly can get. 2. An offensive system that widens the field as much as possible to maximize potential attacking space and maximize throwing windows.

The goal here is to mask Emorys limited athletic ability. Wide receivers, Tight Ends, O-Line, Running Backs, scheme, everything needs to be just right for a QB like him to really put up some numbers.

The moment you insert a QB that has an arm, that can attack deeper portions of the field and can do stuff with his legs out of structure, that's when your entire offense changes. You can install longer developing plays, deeper route combinations and attack deeper areas on the field. And that will require different receivers and different running backs. You need receivers with good route running in the intermediate area, players who understand spacing and zone coverage, who can uncover themselves in scramble drills and running backs with more size that can pass protect on longer plays.

Team cohesiveness matters.

I didn’t say Emory is Ward. He doesn’t need to be speculator if we improve the defense.

Some of you fans need to get off of this! The kid could barely throw the ball past the line of scrimmage in both those games. Go back and count how many batted down balls he had in those games. Do you know why, because his arm strength is subpar! And that’s not gonna change. SMH there’s a lot of quarterbacks in the portal that are upgrades over Emory because of said arm strength.
