Almost hate it for the G5 programs where they help to develop a kid, and almost assuredly knows he will leave for the P4
they also get power 5 bounce backs though

This is the best g5 programs should be talent wise.

Power 5 schools are offering less hs kids....they are playing in the portal pushing kids that would typically be power 5 down to g5 also kid in the portal looking for reps are going down to them as well

exactly, it works both ways ... there are five star kids that can't cut it at p4 schools that find big time success is in g5 schools

Think we every see P4 teams to use a G5/FCS schools a development squad? I.e. Miami recruits project players to FIU with the intent of “calling them up”. Have the feeder program run similar systems, possibly even share some facilities/nutrition.

You do that if a hc from your coaching tree gets the job at a g5 and is cool with it.
It could work. **** u kind of seen it with smu at a level and they took off with our guys.

I meant colleges placed guys in jucos and preps like milford and hargrave..if a coach was smart and tight with the hc he could pull it off

That’s life. Every good employee I hire & invest in eventually leaves me for higher paying opportunities. Sucks but I’m happy for them for bettering themselves.

Nature of the beast. At that age, people do it in relationships, jobs, friend groups. Opportunity > Loyalty

And don’t think for a second those coaches wouldn’t do it to those players/schools if they are given the chance.

Knew of Rivers in Chattanooga as a basketball player. He was lethal in the 3on3 circuit.

McCallie school is always loaded in football though.
