The Canes are searching for safety help in the Portal, and they have their sights set squarely on Jacksonville State’s Zechariah Poyser. The 6’2, 190-pounder native of Wildwood, FL (near the Villages) is considered one of the top safeties in the Portal.

Brandon Napoleon's dad doesn't work lol he's a former WVU RB and runs his own multi-media company and does a lot of stuff for West Virginia Sports Illustrated coverage and interviews former players, etc. Also tries to be a motivational speaker...

Somehow he got hired to speak at a coaching clinic I was at... if that is who you work with... please tell him to pursue something else or just drop motivational speaking lol

Ahh now that you mention it he did say he was a teacher during that speech. I had zoned out

I’d imagine Rich Rod is taking his son with him to West Virginia given Brandon played there and his dad played there.

Yea he did mention something about Brandon, but wasn't 100% positive what he said.

Regardless, he said that Poyser would be a great addition to anyone.

According to Matt Zenitz at 247Sports, an SEC personnel staffer told him this week that Poyser is “one of the top young safeties in the nation and that he has All-American type potential.”

He was unrated out of high school as a wide receiver, catching 17 passes for 276 yards and 4 TDs as a senior. He also averaged 12.4 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 4.2 APG and 1.6 SPG on the hardwood.



Poyser visited Miami this weekend and is also considering Florida, Auburn, LSU and Georgia.
