What's up Fellas-

I have been getting more and more request either from here in the forums or from YouTube directly asking me for the option to download the games for those who travel or those who also want to archive the games. (Essentially that is why I started pulling the games in the first place, so I could have an library of every full game that was televised, then I got sick and tired of having to speed pass all the commercials or when we get SEC commentators). So I figured I'd put it to a vote in different forums and see what the overall feedback was. Some people have already figured out that you can download a browser plug-in and download directly from YouTube, but the only problem with that is I believe the best quality you can pull down is HD 720p. YouTube always down samples my video's bitrate anyways to around 6Mpbs. Quality will suffer if you want to then burn all of the games to BluRay for archival purposes. So the other options are to torrent the games for download or to break them into small segments and use a online media storage which would incur a cost because we are dealing with 1.2-1.5 GB files per game. I like the idea of a torrent but I don't like the idea of my PC always being on seeding the torrent. I like to keep a very small footprint on deez interwebs if you know what I'm saying. So if it was going to be torrented then there would have to be a pretty decent amount of seeders for it to be worth it or the downloads would be incredibly slow. The Mediafire/RapidShare alternative would probably be a donations accepted type of deal just to offset the monthly fee to keep an account open. So what say you Caniacs? Is there enough DEMAND for a Canes FlashForward onDemand? (See there what I just did?!? errr ahemm nvm) Let me know? I have all of this season, last season, missing one game from 2011 and I believe 3 games from 2010. I started back in 2009 but halfway through the season. I'm still working on filling the gaps for those seasons.

Youtube is good for me I dont know bout these nerd torrents and stuff lol. YT is easy n fast.

I really appreciate the quality work U put in bro. You've clearly bought in to the process... The youtube deal is pretty convienient, but having the ability to achive the games sounds ideal. I'm always trying to dig up classic torrents, but no one seeds. Here in lies the biggest obstacle, no one wants to leave to many foot prints on the intranetz... One way or another thank U

it would be cool to definitely archive them, however if it is a massive amount of work for you then I'm not sure its that big of a deal. Would be cool to keep the files and look back on these games a few years from now without having to search youtube or wondering if the vids still existed. Youtube is doing more than enough for the majority of people I would say though.

thanks for all the work!

YouTube is fine enough for me as long as they're in HD and don't get taken down by YouTube.

This thread has spoken to me. :)
I've pulled all the games so far from YouTube and my only complaint was the fact that YouTube downgrades the files... but I told myself I would just have to live with it.
Not anymore... uTorrent is ready and willing.

The route that would add substantially to my already arduous process would be to have to split/slice them into chunks after the render and then upload them to a file sharing service. Splicing 1.5gb would probably take about an hour or so. Then uploading the 100mb checks (10 to 12) at maybe a couple mbs per second, depending if I chose a premium service that gives me the maximum upload rate, would probably be another 5 to 10 mins per clip. Then provide those links to all of the forums and other places would be another 30 or so mins. So the reality is that my normal process takes 6 to 8 hours to edit and the render (I render at the highest quality for my archive and let YouTube downgrade it). Thus adding another minimum of 2 hours to the process. Granted while its rendering, I sit back, drink beer, catch up on other games and chat wit you fine peoples but yeah its not for the faint at heart. However, I'll only do it if it is a value-added necessity. If there isn't enough demand, it's not worth it.

BTW...should I throw this to the WEZ too? I know some of them check out the Canes FlashForward too but don't spend much time chilling in here.

I dnt think youtube will take in down. They only take down NFL video because the NFL ******* and sent complaints. That's how I got my first Youtube channel taken down

Hey stat1124... thanks for posting the vids on YouTube this past season. I was just curious if you were ever going to complete the season and post the Virginia Tech, Duke, Virginia, Pittsburgh and Louisville games? I am looking for these to archive a complete 2013 set.
