Age matters when you're evaluating a player in a specific context. A 20 year old dominating HS ball is less impressive than a 16 year old doing the same.

But age isn't necessarily an indicator of upside. Carson Wentz was an old rookie and he improved dramatically in year 2 (growth during the season even) while plenty of young QB prospects never pan out. The best indicators of upside are physical tools, potential areas for improvement and intangibles.

From what I can tell Jobe has great physical tools, lots of room to improve with technique and positional awareness, and subpar intangibles. He has high upside but a lower floor and his age doesn't really factor into that projection much. If he was old, small, slow and polished then you could say he has low upside.

I’ll say what I said when fans started to say the same thing about Bruce; how ALL OF A SUDDEN he was slow, not a factor, and a diminutive WR, when it appeared he was going to bolt....stop trashing the athletic abilities b/c a kid might not sign here! Good thing you soft shouldered posters aren’t our coaches, couldn’t survive in the recruiting game if you cried about every little twist and turn. Obviously the staff is in it for the long term if they haven’t stopped recruiting him. I’m not even saying we will get jobe, just glad to see our staff fighting

This ain’t basketball where nba scouts use that against you. Nba wants the young prospects, nfl is way more lenient. Calvin Ridley was a 21 year freshman he STILL is the best receiver in the country in terms of nfl readiness

Some of y’all sound like some fans y’all accuse Bama fans of being if they don’t come to their school by saying jobe is dumb or 20years old. You wouldn’t be saying none of that if he was locked in. The one thing I cant stand and I cant say everyone, is they get mad that he leaves (me included) but I dont get how it makes him have character issues or he sucks. A guy like Franchise at least is real and says fuq this kid hes gone but he doesnt diminish the fact that the kid all of a sudden sucks, hes a great player always has been probably always will be. Yup, I watched that film he certainly is a good player I still hope he stays home. Glad I am not a recruiter, I would absolutely suck at it, no patience at all. Kudo's for the coaches going toe to toe with Bama over this kid.
