The best thing about competition is the coaches don't need to lead the horse to water. I am sure plenty of second and third stringers don't give a crap who the other team is. They just want to play and will come out hyped up that they'll get their shot v GT. The best thing about depth of talent is that if the starter doesn't have his head in the game, you don't need to hesitate to rotate in the backup. ... Besides, a Mario team isn't going to treat their opponent with disrespect. I'm not forgetting last year. But the roster and staff are very different this season.

This is all I’m saying. I need to see it. Keep showing this program is moving in the right direction. We will learn more each week and this Saturday night is a big one on many levels.

It’s going to be more of a challenge than most of this board thinks…in my opinion. Tech isn’t as bad as the loss to BG made them seem. Just feel after a bye week we come out sluggish and it’s a game deep into the 3rd. Maybe I have PTSD of the last 15yr a of Canes football but hopefully I’m wrong and Miami handles them with ease.

We just need to show and be the aggressor from the jump. Rather trying to withstand GT’s best punch. Too many times we play lesser team’s game and on their terms.

We haven't played down to our competition at any point this year. There's no reason why this game shouldn't end like Miami (OH)/Temple did. And right now GT is probably the third-best team (Behind A&M and Miami (OH)) that we've played.

I think they'll come out ready to play, considering how bad they were last week, but we should be able to handle them easily. At the end of the day, they can't fix their terrible defense in one week, regardless of demoting or promoting coordinators. We should be able to control the lines and put up points. Our secondary will definitely be tested by them, though having Kam back will make a big difference.

shake of sluggish start and pull through 2H win...both in their own ways have positive takeaways...

Our Canes have got to get rid of the "bye week curse" and losing to teams like GT take the next steps to competitve status.

Our team has been very business-like every game this year. They seem to shrug off mistakes and keep going. I am not concerned about the bye week blues. Nor am I concerned about GT. We take care of business and walk away with this one.

I’m hoping with it being a night game, kids who actually love to play football and want to get back on the field, big recruiting weekend, Kam back and roster being mostly healthy will lead to no bye week blues.

Tech is a step up from all games Miami has played except A&M but Miami should still win by double digits. Let’s see it happen in front of a nice crowd at night.

If you're being realistic about this game, everything says pretty much that we should win going away. BUT - some of us (a lot of us) are still in PTSD mode from other ACC home games we were *supposed* to win against lesser competition. This is the ACC opener at home, at night, with the Miami Nights unis on...should be a recipe for success, right? Recent history would treat you like John McLaughlin would and yell "WRONG!" in your face.

So...I'm optimistic about the ultimate result, but I'm guarded against a letdown/slow start against a team that needs early success/reasons to believe they can hang in with us. I'd like to see us get a victory by physical domination and controlling the game, but it's not the "norm" for us over the past several years. This team has the potential to start bringing that kind of thing back, but they gotta keep proving it on the field.
