Like always good stuff.. I see Chris Johnson get mention for possible touches with starting oline? :u5pyxda: Shoot I would pay to see him and Singleton line it up before the game Florida and Georgia 100m/200m state champs freshmans in this game. Singleton with 10.2 speed is CRAZYYYY.. Surprised the beat writer didnt mention him as he is leading them in receiving as true freshman, that receiving core/their passing game will be a good test for us overall. Chase Lane might be back, Rutherford was break out player, Leary/Blaylock transfers from bama/uga. Jamal Haynes is a converted wr playing RB.

Hope the defense doesnt let this become a track meet and hope we can get after their tackles as they look like they might be turnstiles and vulnerable. Though Haynes King is very mobile and can pick up yards with feet.. Should be a fun game.

It’s going to be more of a challenge than most of this board thinks…in my opinion. Tech isn’t as bad as the loss to BG made them seem. Just feel after a bye week we come out sluggish and it’s a game deep into the 3rd. Maybe I have PTSD of the last 15yr a of Canes football but hopefully I’m wrong and Miami handles them with ease.

Their offense particularly their passing game could be a problem. Hope I’m wrong.

GT has to try to stop the run or they have no chance. GT's defense makes them vulnerable, but their offense is good enough to beat Miami if enough mistakes are made.

You probably had us struggling against Temple too

Miami will run the ball probably 60% of the time and the 40% passing will end up with some explosive plays. Miami will be able to control time of possession with the run game, getting chunks of yards, first downs. Tech has a decent offense but won't be able to stop a hungry UM offense. A lot of guys want their chance to be productive. Canes cover.

If you're being realistic about this game, everything says pretty much that we should win going away. BUT - some of us (a lot of us) are still in PTSD mode from other ACC home games we were *supposed* to win against lesser competition. This is the ACC opener at home, at night, with the Miami Nights unis on...should be a recipe for success, right? Recent history would treat you like John McLaughlin would and yell "WRONG!" in your face.

So...I'm optimistic about the ultimate result, but I'm guarded against a letdown/slow start against a team that needs early success/reasons to believe they can hang in with us. I'd like to see us get a victory by physical domination and controlling the game, but it's not the "norm" for us over the past several years. This team has the potential to start bringing that kind of thing back, but they gotta keep proving it on the field.

We better come to play defensively. GT has some good players on offense and can score quick.

Exactly.
GT seems to be one of those typical ACC you see every year where they have horrible out of conference then proceed to wreck the conference by upsetting ACC teams.

Their offense is dangerous and their defense is bad. It’s a game we can lose if we don’t play well.

They’ll move the ball and score. They’re an injured animal so I hope the players come in focused. They’re more the team that showed up against Wake and Ole Miss than last week.

This year seems different so I expect a good effort by UM.

My concern about the game doesn't have to do much with the matchup, UM is considerably better than GT in every facet of the game (except our special teams, which I still think is abysmal ). I'm far more worried about the players looking past GT and thinking about the tough part of ACC schedule that follows GT. Doesn't take much for STs to f#ck things up and give GT a short field multiple times. I don't know if a bye week helps or hurts with focusing the players.

It's a good game to see where the team is. This is the classic look-ahead game that they've crapped the bed with for the past twenty years. I know GT is going to come out mad about last week. It's the things that don't show up on paper, like the ST mistakes, turnovers, penalties, missed assignments, drops, and just poor effort that have killed Miami. They look different this year though, so hopefully that carries over. The uniforms might actually serve a purpose, making the game special, even though UNC is coming next.

There's too many recruits at the game for Cristobal and his staff not to be all the way up in every player's **** about putting on a performance tomorrow.
