Our Dline must look like the JV squad vs the Oline physically speaking. Hopefully our Dline is athletic enough to make up for the lack of size. I'm really concerned about our defense stopping the run.
DT maybe but our d ends are pretty much all prototypical guys. And yes stopping the run is the biggest challenge we will face IMO too.

In recent vintage, ACC OL play - despite having several OL drafted very high and playing in the NFL, as a group, has been pretty bad, especially at the mid-tier and below.

Last year, 6 teams in the ACC ranked T-100 or worse in sacks allowed. 8 teams ranked T-90th or worse in sacks allowed. Even Clemson is in the 70s. Florida State jumped up from the mid to the upperclass of the conference in part because they got their **** together on the OL...they were 30th in sacks allowed. Last year, seven teams were in the bottom half of the nation in TFL allowed. ACC OL play simply put, ******* stinks despite putting 11 Day 1 or Day 2 picks in the NFL over the past 5 drafts, including many others on Day 3 that have started in the NFL and did so pretty early. Its a weird conference.

Offensive Line improvement is the single fastest way to go from the bottom or mid-tier of the conference to the upperclass. If Miami has their **** together on the OL, should be a good year. That will require us to avoid the injury bug, too...last year, we had an insane number of games lost on the OL and it doesn't matter what kind of team you've got around that offensive line, you're going to suck when you're trotting out 3rd and 4th string underclass linemen out there, nevermind if those 3rd/4th string players may not be P5 quality players at that point.

One segment in particular I thought D$ gave some great insights (pun) was the Jacurri Brown segment. He’s taken a lot of criticism here and I get it.

Watching him last year perform when things broke down, his intangibles etc that’s one of his biggest strengths and that’s not something we would see on Greentree or in scrimmages.

Pretty desperate QB situation if TVD gets hurt but Brown isn’t really playing at 100% of his skills in these situations either.

I have watched both Dorsey and Covington as they came on board... Emory seems to be an interesting blend of both... Dorsey's headiness and calm presence in the huddle along with Covington's throwing touch and accuracy. Covington could probably make any throw in terms of touch and trajectory. Unfortunately he came in at the worst times for a cane QB.

If the OL holds, we could have a potential star for the next few years.

Covington came in at "the worst times for a Cane QB?"

@DMoney I was just there on vacation too. This is the best time of year to visit with phenomenal weather. Saw the Blue Angels right over Lake Washington with Mount Rainier in the background. Sounds like you were out on the peninsula near Lake Crescent. Incredible place!

The program was in shambles... and our OL was a sieve.
Clement got the nod because he could take a beating and still move the offense marginally.
Those were some hard games to watch. Thank goodness for players like Tremain.
But in my humble opinion, Scott Covington was definitely the better QB

Covington was miles better, and should have started, at minimum, from 1995-1998. One can argue that he should have started in 1994 and eschewed the redshirt.

Hard games to watch? Outside of the awful 5-6 team in 1997, Miami's teams from 1995-1999 are better than any team we've had from 2006 to the present.

If those teams were "hard to watch," how would you describe our last 17 seasons?

There's a weird myth on this board about the probation teams being bad, when that was only true in 1997.
