@DMoney Thanks for the podcast, finally got some time to listen to the entire thing. Really enjoyed it. Hope you continue with these.
Normally I hate to do comparisons, but I wanted your input on something, here goes.
Obviously this is a much better team than Bethune Cookman, although their C-USA record last year doesn’t necessarily strike fear.
A the same time, what I’m looking for this early in the season, is a contrast between this coaching staff and Manny and the prior coaching staff.
A comparable game that I can think of was Central Michigan @ home, back in 2019, a team that the old staff had a hard time dominating, matter-of-fact, had a bit of a hard time beating.
Central Michigan might be a slightly better team, and obviously in a different conference, but I see Southern Miss and Central Michigan as being in more or less the same stratosphere.
These are the types of teams that Manny had honestly a hard time dominating. Central Michigan, FIU, LATech.
So while this will not be as easy a game as Bethune Cookman, I still expect to see a difference in the way we dominate this inferior team, which we had horrible examples of in the prior coaching staff.
It is a low bar, but it’s still a measuring stick game versus Southern Miss. I expect domination. I expect at least a four touchdown win.
