You guys are moron's.. Hes telling you they ONLY have space for 1-2 DB's next cycle depending on if we take 6 or 7 this cycle. Simple math.. If we take 6 we get 2 db's next year. If we take 7 we only have room for 1 in 19.....
If we take 6 or 7 we are still taking at least 3 DBs next cycle.

I love the things the staff is doing at Miami, BUT next year for Surge19' our staff have to stock pile at the DB position!! Too many studs rolling in from SoFla, I understand we can't get them ALL BUT we need to sign at least 3 for Surge19'!! It's time to start having freshman studs redshirt again..

Just think, player's like Dent, Sang., Stevenson, Davis, or Richardson here at Miami and all of them redshirting.. That means Miami had some talent ahead of them and our Canes are loaded in the secondary..

If we're switching to more of a 4-2-5 like Big Baller Pete has suggested, then taking 1 DB would make zero sense.

I don't think we get Campbell or Surtain.. but if we do it's TC

I think we lose Jobe too. I don't mind..

I don't disagree with what you're saying, except for the I don't mind part. Jobe is not only a Top Shelf talent; but we need to prove to errbody that the State of Miami has been roped off and you can't come to our back yard and pluck our talent.

My wet dream would be to land these 3 and Asante Samuel; but if I had to settle, I would take Jobe because he needs to stay home and Tyson Campbell cause he's special.

Why would they only take 2 DB's?

Miami has 5 DB's committed including Josh Jobe. Miami is looking to add potentially Pat Surtain Jr and Tyson Campbell if Jobe sticks. If he de-commits Miami could after a guy like Asante Samuel Jr. Regardless looks like Miami wants to bring in 6-7 DB's in 2018

Asante Samuel as a Plan B guy...db pool this class is insanely talented

Miami QB coach visited 2019 Sheldon (OR) QB Michael Johnson at his high school on Monday and I was told the visit went very well. Johnson has had his name linked to Oregon because his father is a coach on the staff, but I spoke to one source who told me that he wouldn’t be surprised if Johnson were to end up at Miami. It will be interesting to see if Johnson stays in Oregon after Willie Taggart became the head coach at FSU.

Miami is expected to take one to two DB's in 2019 and Miami’s top target is South Dade DB Tyrique Stevenson who just de-committed from Florida. The number right now is set for one defensive back in 2019, but with the amount of talent in the area next cycle, I don’t know if Miami can stay true to taking one defensive back next cycle. This week alone the coaches have visited FSU commit Akeem Dent, Tennessee commit Te’Cory Couch, STA CB’s Jaden Davis and Jordan Battle, Wellington ATH Mark Richards, and 5-star ATH Josh Sanguinetti
.

They won't say no to Stevenson, Sanguetti, or Richard

We’re graduating Johnson, Redwine, Dean, and Jackson. I think we want three. Especially when we’ll be in nickle half of the snaps.

The infamous 1000%. That makes me feel worse about it now.

And lol @ whatever you're smoking here.... Miami has 5 DB's committed including Josh Jobe. Miami is looking to add potentially Pat Surtain Jr and Tyson Campbell if Jobe sticks.

At this point I'll take 1 of em. There's a less than 1% chance we land all 3.

Never said Miami was going to land all three

Tyrique Stevenson is the best DB in the state for 2019. The kid makes DJ Ivey (a really good DB), look just average. He's about as close to a must get as there is at that position.

Taking 6-7 DBs this class then taking 1 in the next class makes little sense to me. This season we played with 10 scholarship DBs when the number should be 16. I believe we have plenty of room for 3-4 in 2019 without over loading the position group. Attrition and early departures will make it necessary to take more than 1-2. Quality depth across the defensive backfield must be built up.

Dent, Sanguinetti, Stevenson and Richards are the type of talent you absolutely cannot turn down.
